CarterTech 2
CarterTech 2 is not your average tech mod. It’s a love letter to over-engineering, over-thinking, and turning the simplest parts of Minecraft into long, multi-layered processes. If you thought crafting a wooden pickaxe was easy, think again.
This mod takes the most basic ideas in Minecraft and explodes them into sprawling chains of steps, intermediates, and tools that need tools to make tools. Every recipe has been rebuilt to be longer, slower, and far more tedious — but in the most satisfying way possible.
🔧 Features
-
Wood Progression 2.0 – Logs no longer turn directly into planks. Instead, break them down into shards, scraps, panels, and only then into planks.
-
Handle System – Every sword and tool requires a specially crafted handle. No handle, no weapon.
-
Recursive Tools – Tools often require other tools (like saws, scissors, or special parts) to be crafted first.
-
Doors with Details – Want an iron door? You’ll need to make a doorknob, hinges, and combine them with the frame.
-
Overcomplicated String – Scissors and cobwebs/leads are required just to make string. Yes, really.
-
Expansion Ready – CarterTech 2 is designed to be the base for future ridiculous add-ons, where every block can be broken down, rebuilt, and re-crafted dozens of times.
🧩 Philosophy
CarterTech 2 is about making every accomplishment feel earned. A single wooden plank isn’t trivial — it’s the result of careful gathering, breaking down, and recombining resources. Tools and weapons become meaningful investments, not disposable throwaways.
This is a mod for players who love the grind, who want Minecraft to feel like 100 updates of added complexity stacked together, and who think that “tedious” is just another word for “immersive.”
⚠️ Warning
CarterTech 2 is not for the faint of heart. Expect to:
-
Chop down forests for a single door
-
Carry stacks of intermediates in your inventory
-
Spend hours preparing your first sword
-
Celebrate small victories like you just beat the Ender Dragon
If you’re looking for streamlined gameplay, turn back now. But if you want Minecraft to be harder, slower, and absurdly more complicated... welcome to CarterTech 2.
