Carry Mechanics (0.0.0-beta.1)
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
v0.0.0-beta.1 - Port to Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge)
First beta of Carry Mechanics for Minecraft 1.20.1 / Forge 47.4.23 (Java 17). Same carry system and behaviour as the 1.21.1 build (v1.0.1).
About this build
- Port from the 1.21.1 line: full feature parity with Carry Mechanics 1.0.1 for 1.21.1, rebuilt on MinecraftForge. The fork's own gameplay dynamics are preserved.
- Feature set: sneak-to-pick-up blocks (with block entities) and entities, place anywhere, entity stacking, weight/slowness, datapack whitelist/blacklist tags, the JSON scripting engine, model overrides, and the
/carrymechanicscommands. - Multiplayer: what each player carries is synced to every nearby player, so carried blocks and entities are visible in third person.
- Config screen: in-game config screen from the Mods menu, with every common and client option.
- Dependencies: none. GameStages is optional (for script conditions).
Technical Changes
- Player carry data stored in a Forge capability (
carry_mechanics:carry_data) instead of a NeoForge data attachment. - Networking on a Forge
SimpleChannel; client-only packet logic isolated so dedicated servers never load client classes. - Config on
ForgeConfigSpecwith the same keys and defaults as 1.21.1. - Datapack tags use the 1.20.1 folder names:
tags/blocks/andtags/entity_types/.
Notes
Install on both client and server. This is a Forge build (not NeoForge). LGPL-3.0 (fork of Carry On): the mod stays under the LGPL, keeps the original Carry On copyright, and its complete source is published in the repository.
