CaP's Simple Storage

Your chests, connected. Your items, within reach.

CaP's Simple Storage brings your chests and barrels together in one searchable network. Find what you need, store your loot, and craft from a single terminal while your items stay inside their physical containers.

Built for early survival, it uses accessible materials like iron, copper, and redstone. No power generation, storage disks, or channel management required.

Features

• Physical storage networks: Connect vanilla chests, double chests, and barrels without replacing your existing storage.

• Searchable terminals: Browse grouped items, see total quantities, and search by item name, identifier, or mod.

• Integrated crafting: Use a familiar 3×3 crafting grid with normal item placement, dragging, stack splitting, and Shift-click crafting.

• Ingredient replenishment: After crafting, the terminal replenishes matching ingredients from connected storage when available.

• Optional JEI integration: Transfer crafting recipes using JEI’s + button, drawing ingredients from your network and inventory.

• Quick inventory deposits: Store your main inventory with one button while keeping your hotbar and equipment.

• Convenient navigation: Scroll through your items, drag the scrollbar, and sort by name or quantity.

• Vanilla-inspired visuals: Dark wood, copper fittings, iron details, and cables that visibly follow their connections.

Getting Started

1. Craft a Storage Controller and a Storage Terminal.

2. Attach Inventory Connectors to your chests or barrels.

3. Link the components with Copper Cables.

4. Open the terminal to access your connected storage.

5. Upgrade to a Crafting Terminal to craft without running between chests.

Each network needs exactly one controller. Only inventories in loaded chunks are accessible—the mod does not keep chunks loaded automatically.

Crafting Without the Extra Steps

Place ingredients directly into the Crafting Terminal’s grid, or let JEI fill a recipe for you. Take the result normally or use Shift-click to craft repeatedly while ingredients and inventory space remain available.

The Clear Grid button returns ingredients to connected storage. If storage is full, those items stay in the grid. Any ingredients left when you close the terminal return to your inventory, dropping nearby if necessary.

This is manual crafting with convenient access to your storage. Automatic crafting chains and ingredient production are not included.

Requirements

• Minecraft Java Edition: 26.1.2

• Mod loader: NeoForge 26.1.2.124

• Optional: JEI 29.53.0.112 for recipe transfer and recipe browsing

For multiplayer, install the same version of CaP's Simple Storage on the server and every client.
