Candy: Sweet Tooth
A candy-themed survival horror mod for Minecraft Java Edition 26.3, Forge 66.0.11, and Java 25.
Sweet rewards, bitter consequences
Craft Cursed Candy with sugar and cocoa beans. Right-click to consume it: restore food and gain a short Speed boost, but increase your curse up to five levels. Higher curse levels attract Sweet Tooth more often.
Sweet Tooth is a pumpkin-headed vanilla zombie carrying candy. He appears behind you when there is room, stalks you with vanilla zombie AI, and can attack in Survival. Apparitions last at most ten seconds. Close encounters cause Slowness and Darkness.
While cursed, you also hear eerie cave sounds, see disturbing messages, and experience brief Darkness.
Break the curse
Craft Bitter Mint with sugar and kelp. Right-click it to clear your curse, remove your stalker, and clear Darkness and Slowness. Both recipes are shapeless and produce two items.
Commands: /candy for help, /candy status to check your curse, and /candy stop to end it immediately. Items also appear in the Food & Drinks creative tab. Peaceful prevents stalkers; other scare effects remain.
Installation
Install Forge 66.0.11 for Minecraft 26.3, use Java 25, and place the JAR in your instance's mods folder. Multiplayer requires the same mod on the server and each client. No additional mod dependencies.
Blood Candy armor and sword — 0.2.0
Craft Blood Candy from Cursed Candy + iron ingot + redstone (shapeless). Use Blood Candy in the usual helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots, and sword recipes. Armor and sword have candy stripes and dark red blood stains, including worn armor textures. Blood Candy repairs the equipment in an anvil.
Rotten Candy Realm
Craft a reusable Candy Gate using these rows (C=Cursed Candy, M=Bitter Mint, A=amethyst shard, E=ender pearl):
C M C
A E A
C M C
Right-click to enter a separate dimension with pink/white terrain, a checkerboard arena, candy-cane pillars, and a dark sky. Right-click the gate again or use /candy leave to return.
The Rotten Candy King
Craft a Rotten Crown using these rows (B=Blood Candy, C=Cursed Candy, D=diamond):
B C B
C D C
B C B
Use the crown inside the realm to summon a custom textured candy slime boss with 200 health and a boss bar. Below half health he enters Sugar Frenzy: faster movement, stronger attacks, and nearby Darkness/Slowness. He can summon small vanilla slime minions. A player kill drops 16 Blood Candy and 4 Bitter Mints. The crown is consumed only after a successful summon; duplicate arena bosses and Peaceful summoning are blocked.
Candy Blood Dimension — 0.3.0
Explore a second dimension, separate from the Rotten Candy Realm, with blood-red fog, dark red candy terrain, sticky syrup ground, and a red-and-black arena.
Craft a Blood Candy Gate by surrounding a Candy Gate with eight Blood Candy. Right-click it from your normal world to enter. Inside either candy dimension, use either gate again or /candy leave to return to your original departure point. The gate is reusable. A Rotten Crown can summon the Candy King in this dimension too.
Candy Blood Syrup is a solid sticky block that slows walking. Craft Blood Candy + slime ball (shapeless) for four syrup blocks.
Blood Candy Trees and Tools — 0.4.0
A starter grove of 56 Blood Candy trees grows around the Blood Dimension arena. It generates once on entry, including upgraded worlds; harvested trees do not respawn. The rest of the dimension remains flat syrup terrain.
Chop the trunks for Blood Candy Logs. One log crafts four Blood Candy Planks; two vertically stacked planks craft four sticks. Planks also work in vanilla wood recipes such as crafting tables. Break the four hanging fruit blocks on each tree for two Blood Candy per fruit. Leaves can drop Blood Candy (25%) and saplings (12%). Shears or Silk Touch harvest leaf blocks.
Plant Blood Candy Saplings on syrup or ordinary dirt. They grow over time or with bone meal, including in the dark realm. Leave a clear 5×5 space with seven blocks of headroom. Blood Candy + oak sapling also crafts one Blood Candy Sapling. Growth will not overwrite occupied space.
Craft a Blood Candy Pickaxe, Axe or Shovel using Blood Candy and sticks in the standard tool patterns. These tools have 1,100 durability, diamond-tier mining capability, and can be repaired with Blood Candy in an anvil.
Blood Candy Portals and Nightmare Beds — 0.5.0
Build a vertical frame using 14 Blood Candy Logs: four blocks wide and five blocks high, including all corners. Leave a two-wide, three-high empty center. Right-click any frame log with your reusable Blood Candy Gate to activate the red portal, then walk through. Frames work in either horizontal orientation. Removing a frame log disables the portal.
A return portal appears near the Candy Blood Dimension arrival point when that area is clear. Walk through to return to your original departure dimension and position. Leave the portal blocks before entering again; this prevents immediate teleport loops. Existing gates and /candy leave remain available.
Trying to sleep in a nearby regular Overworld bed when its sleep rule permits sleeping sends you to the Candy Blood Dimension instead. The bed remains intact. Daytime attempts that would not normally allow sleep stay unchanged. This feature applies to regular Overworld beds. Use the return portal or /candy leave to return to your departure point.
Beta status
Version 0.5.0-beta passed the release build and all 11 server GameTests, including portal activation, both orientations, return travel, loop prevention, nighttime bed travel and unchanged daytime attempts. Manual client rendering/playtesting remains outstanding.
Replace the previous candy JAR with 0.5.0 on every client and the server, then restart the world. Existing gear, trees, both dimensions and the Candy King remain included.
