What's new

Camera Monitoring 1.5.0 for NeoForge 26.1.2

New: cameras in any dimension

You can now watch a camera that is in another dimension than you: the camera at your Nether base from the Overworld, an End outpost from home, and so on, from the Monitoring Station or a remote monitor. The same goes for body cameras: you can watch a player in another dimension, and the view follows them when they go through a portal.

While you watch, you are moved into that dimension as a spectator, and you are brought back to where you were when you stop watching. Distance limits only apply inside the same dimension. Because you really enter the dimension, watching a Nether or End camera counts as visiting it for advancements.

Server owners: the option is crossDimensionViewing in the [viewing] section of cameramonitoring-server.toml, and it is on by default. Set it to false to only allow cameras in the viewer's own dimension. It replaces the old allowCrossDimensionViewing, which was off and did not work.

Monitor screens on walls still show cameras from their own dimension only.

Fixed: cameras beyond your render distance

Watching a camera further away than your render distance could leave the view on yourself instead of the camera. The camera view now starts as soon as that area has reached your game.

Nothing else changes: cameras, monitors, modules, alarms, passwords and existing worlds work as before. Replace the previous Camera Monitoring jar with this one.
