What's new

First release on CurseForge. New animated 3D models for the bosses, boss weapons and armor, with cloth, chains and fire that move on their own: the Dharma Knight keeps its crisp block look on a new skeleton: its cape, skirt and bead string move, its arms swing loose when it walks, and its summoned ally and the 3D Dharma Wheel come along; the Dharma Avatar in both forms, its clones, its giant hands and the Buddha vision; the Calamity Asura in its normal, enraged and Crimson Asura forms; the Lotus Guardian; the Celestial Chakram, the Sword of Extermination, the Chaos Lance and the Asura Vajra, 3D in hand, on the ground, in item frames and in the inventory, with the enchantment glint; the Calamity and Dharma armor and the Mystic Hood keep their block look, close to the body, with a tabard, mantle tails, ribbons and a cape that move, on players, armor stands and vanilla mobs. Bigger nukes: Oppenheimer now reaches 384 blocks and I Am Atomic 256. The shockwave kills in the core, hurts less toward the edge, and leaves radiation out to twice the radius for 30 seconds. The blast always lands on the real ground (no more stopping on a treetop) and clears tall trees and mountains inside the radius completely. Both leave new craters. Oppenheimer raises a solid 3D mushroom cloud that lasts about a minute and a half; I Am Atomic becomes a colossal dome of violet light that folds into a pillar of light standing for the whole 30 seconds. Both can be seen from far away. New game rule calamityCraterSpeed sets how fast the I Am Atomic and Oppenheimer craters dig, in percent (100 by default, 10 to 5000): 800 is 8 times faster with more lag, 50 is half speed with less lag. It takes effect right away, even on a crater in progress. Divine spells deal 50% more damage, and Divine Orbs is now hold-to-cast: the Dharma Wheel keeps firing orbs behind you until you let go or run out of mana (the cooldown starts when you let go). The Dharma Knight's wheel no longer adapts to Divine spells, so players who beat the Avatar can farm it. World's End remade: two planets colliding. The Earth and a molten red world burst from two portals in the sky and collide in a blinding fireball; 100 meteors now rain over a 160-block radius, and the final golden wave hits harder. New Divine spell: Starfall (Mythic, from the Scroll Forge like the other Divine spells). Hands of light tear the sky open onto the universe, five stars go supernova one after another and their burning fragments rain down over a 64-block radius before the rift seals. Titan bosses: the Dharma Knight now has 50,000 health, the Calamity Asura 100,000 and the Dharma Avatar 500,000, shown in numbers on the boss bar. No single hit takes more than 1% of their health, no more than 4% goes per second, and no hit skips a phase; /kill still works. Against players with more than 1,000 max health their attacks also take a share of it (2.5 to 25% per attack, through armor and other mods' defenses), and this mod's biggest spells deal bonus damage based on max health to creatures with more than 1,000 health. Nothing changes for normal-health players. The Dharma Avatar's shadow clones now take two hits. Otherwise bosses fight exactly as before: same attacks, timings, hitboxes and damage. New game rule calamityTerrainDestruction (on by default). Set it to false to stop this mod's spells from breaking, placing or melting blocks; damage and effects stay the same. It's also in the Game Rules screen when creating a world (Miscellaneous). Known issues: With the rule off, spell descriptions still mention terrain damage. With Fast or Fancy graphics, weapon, armor and trail glows don't show through water or stained glass (Fabulous shows them). Shader packs may hide the nuke clouds sooner with their own fog.
