ButcherCraft v0.10.0-alpha.1 — First Playable Production Alpha

Welcome to the first playable alpha of ButcherCraft!

This release marks a major milestone for the project. For the first time, players can interact with a fully functional workstation backed by the same simulation architecture that will power the complete meat processing facility in future releases.

New Features

Grinder Workstation

  • Added the first playable workstation: the Grinder.

  • Craft and place the Grinder in your world.

  • Process Beef Trim into Ground Beef.

  • Process Pork Trim into Ground Pork.

  • Server-authoritative processing with visible progress.

  • Save and load support for active grinder operations.

  • Safe duplicate protection prevents multiple outputs from repeated interactions.

Gameplay

  • Added player-ready Beef Trim and Ground Beef items.

  • Added player-ready Pork Trim and Ground Pork items.

  • Added crafting recipe for the Grinder.

  • Added improved models, textures, localization, and creative tab support.

  • Improved workstation feedback for processing, completion, blocked output, and invalid input.

Production Framework

The Grinder is now integrated into the Production Framework.

Production Runs can now:

  • Assign Grinder work.

  • Observe Grinder completion.

  • Complete only after receiving authoritative workstation results.

Subsystem ownership remains strictly separated, preserving deterministic simulation behavior.

Engine Improvements

This release also includes the platform technology that will support future machines:

  • Generic Execution Runtime

  • Scheduler Effect Enforcement

  • Planning Cadence

  • Deterministic Execution Operation Identities

  • Production-to-Workstation integration

  • Improved persistence and duplicate protection

  • Save/load safety improvements

Stability

  • 1,236 automated unit and integration tests

  • 19 automated in-world GameTests

  • Manual Grinder gameplay verification completed

  • Stable data generation

  • Numerous persistence and runtime reliability improvements

Known Limitations

This is still an early Alpha release.

Current limitations include:

  • One workstation (Grinder)

  • Two grinder processes (Beef and Pork)

  • Development progression rather than full survival progression

  • No worker automation

  • No Allocation system

  • No Production automation

  • Additional processing equipment is still under development

Thank You

Thank you for helping test ButcherCraft during its early development.

Every release brings us one step closer to building a complete industrial-scale meat processing simulation inside Minecraft.
