    The DANGER update!

    • Fixed from 1.9.0 - Missing vanilla behaviours restored to flint and steal

     

    Additions

    • Fire is now more dangerous, with choking smoke and poor visibility in burning areas.
    • Protect yourself with a craftable gas mask
    • Blend netherite with wool to make netherweave
    • Netherweve Armor can protect you from fire damage
    • Tar and tar pits have been added to the overworld. Pitch blocks can be broken for pitch resin a fuel source
    • Tar is a thick flamable fluid, good for setting mob traps. It can be collected in buckets, bottles, and placed in cauldrons.
    • Tar Barrels can be crafted. When hit with a flaming arrow they break, spilling flaming tar
    • Add paper to a tar bottle and you have a molotov - with a flint and steel in your off-hand you can throw lit molotovs for a fast firey explosion
    • Sulphur dust and a stick will give you a match - strike it on a rock then throw it to set a fire
    • Sulphur dust can now be placed as a sulphur trail, acting as a slow fuse. You can light it or apply redstone to it
    • All the main stone variants can now become sooty. Use a brush to get soot.
    • More fire effects - double height flames
    • Mushroom blocks now burn for cooked mushroom blocks
    • Barrels and their contents can now burn
    • More soul fire, planks, stairs, slabs and can burn with soul flame
    • Wisps can now drop soul charges
    • Soul fire turns wooden blocks into soul tempered wood - harder and blast resistant
    • New and improved structures - geysers and volcanos added

    Experimental features

    • Dynamic fog - if you find yourself in a large burn, you will lose visibility - off by default, you can turn it on with the config file - doesn't work with shaders
    • Glass kiln - super hot furnace for turning glass into tempered glass
    • Iron Golems will attempt to put out fires
    • Villagers should panic and run away from fires

    All new config

    • Speed, spread, and burn time can be configured (0-100)
    • Turn random collapses on/off and set the chance of the collapse (0-100)
    • Limit the burn to overworld only

    Changes and Improvements

    • Fire Devils have more personaity - use the extinguisher to kill them, but they may sometimes explode
    • Removed the soot block in favour of sooty varient blocks
    • Removed the overpowered BLAZE II enchantment
    • Improved flint and steel interaction
    • Fires can now be set in caves if it's raining outside
    • Burning coal blocks burn indefinitely, and will set any flamable block on fire if placed adjacent
    • Snowballs now actually extinguish fires
