Build Your Plane
Build a plane out of ordinary blocks, check whether it will actually fly, then climb in and take off.
There are no premade planes and nothing is scripted. Every block has a weight and a job, the Plane Assembler works out how your design will behave, and a real six-degree-of-freedom flight model does the rest. Stalls, spins, loops and the cobra all come out of the physics.
How it works
1. Build. Slime blocks glue the airframe together. Redstone blocks are the engine. Pistons are the control surfaces. Slabs and stairs make the wings. Dispensers are the guns.
2. Check it. Craft the Plane Assembler, right-click two opposite corners of your build, and the analysis window opens: your plane in 3D next to its top speed, stall speed, climb rate, roll, pitch and yaw rates, stability and more. It tells you exactly what stops a design from flying.
3. Fly. Press Assemble and you are in the cockpit. The mouse is the stick, W and S are the throttle, A and D the rudder.
Features
- Blocks that matter. Slime is glue, redstone is thrust and ballast, slabs give the most lift for the least drag. Stacking blocks adds weight, not wing.
- Control surfaces by position. Pistons out on the wings are ailerons, pistons far ahead or behind the centre of mass are the elevator, upright pistons far from the centre are the rudder. Where you put them decides how the plane handles.
- Choose the front. The Assembler guesses which way the nose points, and a selector lets you set it yourself. Every number updates instantly.
- Real flight model. Angle of attack, stall, induced drag, dihedral, spins you can recover from. Supermanoeuvres like the cobra and the Kulbit are possible if your plane has the control authority.
- Two cameras. A cockpit view that rolls with the wings, and a War Thunder style chase camera that keeps the horizon level so you watch your plane bank and pitch.
- Clean HUD. A pitch ladder, a flight-path marker, speed, altitude, climb rate, g-load and stall and pull-up warnings, all kept small and out of the way.
- Guns. Every dispenser fires whatever you load into it: arrows (including tipped and spectral), fire charges, firework rockets, snowballs, eggs, splash and lingering potions, wind charges, and TNT dropped as bombs.
- Crash and repair. Hit the ground too hard and the plane breaks apart into its blocks. Land gently and the Assembler turns it back into blocks, with every dispenser still holding what it had.
- Flight assist. Press V and the wings level themselves and the stall guard keeps you flying while you learn.
- Key hints. A small legend in the corner shows the controls for whatever you are doing. Press H to hide it.
- Pilot's Handbook. An in-game guide to everything above, crafted from a book and a slime ball.
- Multiplayer. Works on servers: the pilot's client flies the plane and the server keeps everyone in sync.
