Update 2.0.1

Stock and crypto tax is now on your profit, not your whole sale

The 12% sell tax was charged on the entire sale rather than on what you made, so a trade had to gain 13.6% before you kept a single dollar. You could pick the right stock, be right, and still lose money.

A real trade from the server: 2,600 AETHER bought for $5,595,800, sold for $5,655,000 — a genuine gain — taxed $678,600, netting $4,976,400. Down $619,400 on a winning position.

Now the tax is 12% of your gain. Sell at a loss and you owe nothing. Same for crypto, for shorts (taxed on what the short actually made, not on the cost of covering it), and for limit orders filling in the background.

The sell counter has a daily limit, and no longer slams a door

  • There is now a per-player daily limit on what the NPC counters will pay you, across every shop at once, resetting at midnight UTC. If you are not running an industrial farm you will never see it — selling ten stacks of iron ingots a day is $2,880.
  • The per-cycle budget is no longer a wall. Before, you sold 471 iron blocks and the counter refused you for 40 minutes. Now the first chunk of a material's budget pays full price and each further chunk pays less, sliding down as you go. You can always keep selling — you just earn less per item the deeper you go, so a big stockpile shifts several times faster than it used to.
  • New op commands: /market sellcap and /market selldecay, both tunable live with no restart.

Guild and plot chunks can stay loaded

  • /guild load and /plot load keep a chunk running while nobody is nearby, so farms and machines do not stop the moment you walk away.
  • Guilds get one slot plus one per two members (max 8); a plot gets one. It costs extra daily upkeep, because a loaded chunk costs the server real time whether you are using it or not.
  • If you cannot pay, you lose the loading before you lose the land. Upkeep and rent both shed force-loads first and give you a cycle's warning before anything permanent happens.

Seeing your claims

  • /land map — a grid of the chunks around you, drawn in chat. Green is free, blue is yours, red is taken, and the chunk you are standing in is marked.
  • /land borders — draws the actual edges of your chunk in the world.
  • Both work on a completely vanilla client. No map mod needed.

Requires the matching server version. Buffaverse checks that your client and the server are on the same version at login, so 2.0.1 clients need a 2.0.1 server.
