What's new
BuffMobs v3.3.2 Changelog
Welcome to the latest update of BuffMobs! This release brings two major quality-of-life improvements: more flexible dimension scaling and a complete overhaul of passive mob aggression. Read on to see what’s new.
🚀 New Features
1. Dimension Scaling – Choose Your Mode
Previously, dimension multipliers always stacked with other modifiers. Now you can decide how they apply:
- SCALING (default) – the classic behaviour: dimension values multiply with your global attribute multipliers, day scaling, and presets.
- OVERRIDE – dimension values directly replace the base stats of the mob, ignoring all other multipliers (except presets if you choose to override them). This gives you full control over per‑dimension difficulty.
You’ll find the new dropdown in the config screen under Dimension Scaling → Mode.
2. Passive Mob Aggression – Three States, More Control
The old on/off toggle is gone. In its place, a three‑state selector lets you fine‑tune how passive mobs behave:
- OFF – passive mobs stay completely vanilla (no retaliation, no buffs).
- NEUTRAL – mobs will fight back when hit (like vanilla neutral mobs) and receive all mod buffs (health, damage, speed, etc.).
- HOSTILE – mobs become actively hostile toward players on sight and also receive all buffs.
Now you can turn any passive mob into a real threat – perfect for challenging survival runs or custom map packs.
Note: When NEUTRAL or HOSTILE is selected, affected mobs are treated exactly like hostiles for buff application, so they scale with your global settings, day scaling, and presets.
⚙️ Configuration Updates
- The config GUI (Cloth Config) now includes the new mode selectors for both features.
- The
passiveMobAggression.enabledoption has been removed – upgrade your config or let the mod regenerate it with the new default values.
🛠️ Under the Hood
- Refactored buff application logic to support the new dimension mode.
- Passive mob AI now dynamically switches between
HurtByTargetGoal(neutral) andNearestAttackableTargetGoal(hostile) based on the selected mode. - Cleaned up debug commands to reflect the new setting.
As always, your feedback is welcome! Enjoy the new flexibility and happy hunting. 🎮
