Description
Bratan
You get one companion. Not a squad, not an army you summon — one villager you turn
into a fighter and then live with. He follows you, fights beside you, carries your
things, and grows from someone who barely survives a zombie into someone who holds
a doorway alone.

Making one
The serum is cheap. Surviving it is not.
Inject a villager straight out of the field and he dies nineteen times out of
twenty. He has to be fed first, and only the mod's own food counts — chad bars,
protein shakes, and an enchanted golden apple if you ever find one. Wheat and
carrots do nothing; a farm would make the whole thing free. Steroids do nothing
either, because chemistry only takes on a body that has already been trained.
Sneak and feed him. A plain right-click with the serum tells you where he stands
and costs you nothing. When he's ready, he glows.
Then sneak, click, and hope. Even at his best, one candidate in seven doesn't make
it — and the ones who don't, turn. Cure the zombie and he comes back with his old
profession and trades. Everything you fed him does not come back.
Raising him
He levels from the hostiles he kills, ten levels deep. A rookie has twelve hearts
and loses badly to a zombie. At the top he has thirty-six, hits more than twice as
hard, and swings almost twice a second.
You can also put him to work — planks, push-ups, squats — which pushes his ceiling
past what levelling alone will give. Food is the fuel. Steroids double the rate
permanently, quietly lower that ceiling, and show in his veins. He never comes off
them.

Making him yours
At levels three, five, eight and ten he asks you to choose a move, and you get one
of the two. A gut punch that slows, or a kick that sends them flying. A bodyguard
who pulls enemies off you, or a skirmisher who starts fights twice as far out.
Deeper pockets, or thicker skin. A second wind that cancels a killing blow, or a
rage that makes him hit harder the closer he is to dying.
The other half is gone for good. You will not see both in one world.

Living with him
A chest on his back for storage. Dyed shorts and irises, a name you type into his
menu, and three clothing slots — a business suit, a clown outfit, a tracksuit, or
the ultra-rare Echo '90s out of ancient cities and bastion treasure rooms. None of
it changes a number. It's about who you want him to be.
He climbs out of lava. He walks away on his last hearts, until level ten, where he
stops retreating at all. And if two of them meet, they settle it, because there is
only ever one place.

Death is final. No totem, no respawn, no spare. That one rule is why everything
else here costs what it costs.
