Boxier

Boxier is a sandbox mod for Minecraft that adds playful blocks, in-world media, and a fully interactive browser you can share with other players.

Build chaotic mini-games with the Lucky Block, display images and animated GIFs on the Framer, or turn a wall into a shared browser for videos, music, and the web.

Features

Lucky Block

Break the Lucky Block and let chance decide what happens next. It can shower you with loot, grant buffs, spawn friendly mobs, unleash dangerous creatures, trigger traps, or create complete chaos. Perfect for challenges, events, and multiplayer mini-games.

Framer

Display images and animated GIFs from a URL on a customizable frame.

• Adjustable width and height.
• Supports static images and animated GIFs.
• Works in multiplayer: the URL and size are stored by the server and rendered by nearby clients.

Browser Block

A real Chromium browser rendered directly on a block in the world.

• Shared browser session: nearby players see the same page.
• Right-click to enter fullscreen and interact with mouse and keyboard.
• URL bar with search: enter a URL to open a site, or type any term to search Google.
• Back, forward, reload, and close controls.
• Adjustable display size with separate width and height controls (1 to 64 blocks).
• 360 mode: project the browser texture onto a sphere centered on the block.
• In-game audio streaming with a volume slider.
• Multiple browser sessions can run at the same time, configurable by the server.
• The browser runs server-side and is streamed to nearby players.

Requirements

• Minecraft 26.3
• NeoForge 26.3.0.98 or newer
• Windows x64 for the browser features
• The mod must be installed on both the client and the server

Dedicated Servers

The browser backend requires a Windows desktop session. It does not support running as a Windows service or in session 0.

Controls

• Right-click the Browser Block: open the browser in fullscreen
• Shift + right-click the Browser Block: adjust display width and height
• ESC: close the browser screen
• Ctrl + ESC: send ESC to the web page
• 360 button: toggle the spherical projection
• W / H + Apply: change the 2D display size
• Volume slider: control browser audio

Operator Commands

• /boxierbrowser open <url> - open a test browser session
• /boxierbrowser close - close the test session
• /boxierbrowser openat <pos> - request control of a browser block
• /boxierbrowser audiotest - play a test tone through the browser audio path

Notes and Limitations

• The browser embeds Chromium and native libraries, so the mod file is large.
• Browser performance depends on server and client resources.
• DRM-protected content is not supported.
• Audio and video are streamed to nearby players.
• The browser requires a Windows environment with an interactive desktop.
