Description
Bornedex
Bring land surveying to Minecraft! Fix levelling benchmarks to your walls, then set up a theodolite to measure and engrave their elevation above sea level.
Features
Levelling Benchmark
- A small plate that attaches to the side of a solid block (walls only, never floors or ceilings).
- Can be waterlogged.
- Blank when placed: its elevation is unknown until it has been surveyed.
Theodolite
- A tripod-mounted instrument placed on the ground, like a torch.
- Right-click it to target the nearest unengraved benchmark within 10 blocks, in line of sight.
- The scope turns to aim at the benchmark, fires a particle laser and engraves the benchmark's elevation relative to the dimension's sea level (negative values below sea level).
- The scope keeps its orientation afterwards, showing the instrument has been used.
Advancement and quests
- A "Levelled!" advancement is awarded for your first survey.
- Optional FTB Quests integration: if FTB Quests is installed, a short Bornedex quest chapter (English and French) is added on first launch. Existing quest files are never overwritten, and the install can be disabled with
installDefaultQuests = falseinconfig/bornedex-startup.toml.
