Bons and Furious 1.0.47
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Bons and Furious 1.0.47
384 controls for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge, up from 383 in 1.0.46. This release adds one fix for worlds with TerraBlender and changes nothing else in the game. Still one JAR for client and server with nothing else required; every target mod is optional.
Fixed
- TerraBlender worlds after a mod was removed or downgraded (
terrablender_stale_layer_guard, new): in worlds whose overworld settings are stored in level.dat, TerraBlender keeps an older copy of its surface rules for every time the world was opened and rebuilds all of them for every new chunk. When a mod whose rules use a noise was removed or changed to a version without that noise, every new chunk then crashed with "Missing element ResourceKey[minecraft:worldgen/noise / ...]", for example minecraft:small_patch after going from VanillaBackport 1.2 back to 1.1.7.10. Those saved rules are now skipped, with one warning that names the noise; the current rules still apply. The crash is the same without Bons and Furious: two of its TerraBlender controls only hand the call on in that stack trace. With older releases, installing the mod version the world was opened with again avoids it.
Known: next to VanillaBackport 1.1.7 and newer, terrablender_stacked_layer_save and
terrablender_stacked_layer_dedupe do not act, so level.dat still keeps one more copy of TerraBlender's surface
rules at every world open there.
The new control is on by default.
Thanks to the player who reported the crash on CurseForge with full logs.
Other changes
- Credits: Born in Chaos, Luminous Beasts, Rustic Engineer and Under the Moon, which several MCreator controls have also targeted since 1.0.45, are now listed in upstream-credits.json and NOTICE.md with their tested builds, authors and licences. The 1.0.46 files missed them.
Tested
The new control was compared with TerraBlender's own code on the real classes of TerraBlender 3.0.1.10 and 3.0.1.11: worlds without such a saved copy gave the same blocks with and without it (6.7 million positions per build), and a saved copy that needs a missing noise failed 16 of 16 chunks without it and generated all of them with it, the same as the world without that copy. On a dedicated server that ran VanillaBackport 1.2 for two starts and then 1.1.7.10, new chunks failed with 1.0.46 and without Bons and Furious, and generated with 1.0.47, also on Forge 47.4.16. The release then ran on client and dedicated-server copies of the reference pack. Two rebuilds of the released JAR were byte for byte the same.
Install
Replace the older Bons and Furious JAR with bons_and_furious-1.0.47.jar and restart. Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge
47.3.22 or newer within 47.x; tested with 47.4.28 and 47.4.16. No required dependencies. Existing config choices are
kept and the new key is added with its default. Every control has its own switch in
config/bons_and_furious.properties, and a control whose target mod is missing or at another build is skipped.
The whole-pack benchmark on the project page was measured with 1.0.31 and has not been repeated for this release.
