The original Shape Shifter Curse already brings incredible transformation mechanics with fully feral forms to the game, so I thought: why not domesticate these beasts?

This add-on introduces the taming of players who are in their final transformation stage through a Fidelity Contract. First, one player must click on another with the contract to offer a bond, and then hand the item to the second player so they can accept and sign it.

Owner:

For the Master, there is a special item — the Grimoire of Domination. With it, they can control their pets, give them commands, and track the Bond Level progression. The Bond Level increases when you stay close to your pet or feed them treats. Reaching new levels grants bond points, which can be spent to unlock commands. You can also equip your pet with a renamed collar to give them a nickname and change their display name.

Available commands:

• Stay (Sit): The pet sits in place and cannot move until you cancel the command.
• Heel (Come to me): The pet will be automatically teleported to you if they wander too far away, just like in vanilla Minecraft.
• Blood Guard: The pet is blinded while the command is active. Any target the Master attacks will glow for the pet, and the pet will deal extra damage to it.
• Soft Paws: Forbids the pet from breaking blocks, featuring toggleable bans on attacking and interacting with the world, as well as customizable whitelists and blacklists for any block.
• Absorption: Absorbs the pet into the Grimoire. The pet will see the world through the Master's eyes until the command is canceled.
• Vampirism: The pet's attacks heal the Master.
• Aura Merge: While the pet and Master are close to each other, they receive beneficial status effects.

Pet:

A new button will appear in the pet's Shape Shifter Diary, leading to the Diary of a Pet page. Here, the pet can find information about their bond level, available and active commands, and their Master.

Other Items:

• Pet Bed: This is the only place the pet is allowed to sleep. First, however, the Master must bind their pet to the specific bed, setting their spawn point there and granting them permission to sleep. The Master can also configure how far the pet is allowed to wander from the bed; otherwise, they will be magically pulled back.
• Pet Treat: Allows the Master to quickly hand-feed their pet, restoring hunger and saturation while increasing the Bond Level.
• Bone Whistle: When used, teleports all your pets to you within a limited range.
• Collar of Submission: Equipped in a Trinkets slot and rendered as a custom model on the player. The Master does not have full control over the pet until the collar is equipped. The Master must click on the pet with the collar in hand to put it on. The pet cannot remove the collar themselves.

Notes:

• A player becomes a beast starting from the final transformation stage (Stage 3 or Feral). In this state, they cannot become a Master, and any active bonds they had as a Master will be broken.
• You can also tame a player who is in the penultimate transformation stage (Stage 2), but commands will not work on them yet (they are not wild enough).
• If a Master transitions into the penultimate stage, they will not lose the bond with their pets, but they won't be able to control them until they revert the transformation.
• A Master can have multiple pets, but a pet can only have one Master.
• The bond will be permanently broken if the original signed contract is physically destroyed.

• /bondofthebeast clear [player] - Removes all bonds from the selected player.
• /bondofthebeast info [player] - Displays information about the player's bonds.
• /bondofthebeast staffint [player] - Opens the Grimoire interface for the selected player as if they were a pet.
• /bondofthebeast status [player] - Displays information about the active commands on the player.
• /bondofthebeast xp points, set, add [player] - Add bond points, set the bond level, or add bond experience for the selected player.
• /bondofthebeast set [player(pet)] [player(master)] - Forcibly establish a bond between two players.
