Bog Off! (Fabric 1.20.1)
A server-side mod that gives regular players a personal vanish. You can hide other players from your own view, and they can still see you.
Players don't need to install anything. The mod only has to be on the server (it also works in singleplayer and LAN worlds).
Features
/ghost: Hides every other player from you. They can still see you. The tab list still shows everyone, so you know who's online.
Ghost mode also works like passive mode. Nobody can hurt you, and you can't hurt anyone. If someone tries to hit you, they're told "Player is in ghost mode and can't be attacked."
/block <player>: For when one person keeps bothering you.
You can only block someone after they've killed you 10 times within 5 minutes. When that happens, you get a message saying you can now block them, and you have 10 minutes to do it. If you try too early, it tells you how many times they've killed you so far. Kills count when they:
- hit you directly
- shoot you
- blow you up with TNT they lit
- set their pet on you
- knock you into lava or the void
Kill counts reset when the server restarts. Staff can block without meeting the requirement.
After you block them:
- you can't see their body or nametag
- you don't get their chat messages (public chat,
/me,/teammsg) - they can't
/msgyou or send you/tpa, trade or duel requests - you can't DM or tpa them either, until you
/unblockthem - neither of you can hurt the other (see Protection below)
They can still see you. Staff (op level 2 or higher by default) can't be blocked, and their DMs always go through.
Combat tag: Hitting another player, or getting hit by one, puts both of you in combat for 15 seconds. An action-bar countdown shows the time left. While you're in combat:
- you can't turn on
/ghostor/blockanyone - if ghost mode or blocks are already on, they pause, so you can always see who's attacking you. They switch back on when combat ends.
Protection
This covers ghosts, and any two players where one has blocked the other. They can't hurt each other with:
- melee hits, arrows, tridents, snowballs and other projectiles
- TNT one of them lit
- their tamed wolves and other pets
- harming, poison or other bad potions (splash and lingering), and tipped arrows
- fishing rods (no pulling each other around)
Hazards are also stopped within 6 blocks of a protected player. That means no lava or powder snow buckets, flint and steel, fire charges, TNT, end crystals (placing or punching), respawn anchors, beds in the Nether or End, cobwebs, magma, campfires, wither roses, dripstone, berry bushes or cactus. The player trying gets a message saying why.
