BlueMapFrontiers - MapFrontiers 3 Compatibility
Unofficial NeoForge 1.21.1 compatibility port of BlueMapFrontiers for MapFrontiers 3, with always-visible frontier names and owners on BlueMap.
Unofficial project: This is not an official release by ErdbeerbaerLP, MapFrontiers, or BlueMap. It is a compatibility port derived from the MIT-licensed BlueMapFrontiers project by ErdbeerbaerLP.
What does it do?
This server-side addon connects MapFrontiers 3 to BlueMap.
Global MapFrontiers frontiers that have Webmap visibility enabled are mirrored to BlueMap automatically.
Unlike the original integration, this port also adds an always-visible map label showing the frontier name and owner, so you do not have to click the region just to identify it.
Features
- Displays MapFrontiers 3 Global Frontiers on BlueMap
- Supports Vertex, Chunk, and Path frontiers
- Respects the MapFrontiers Webmap visibility flag
- Uses the frontier's configured color for BlueMap borders and fills
- Adds always-visible frontier name + owner labels
- Automatically refreshes frontier markers while the server is running
- Supports FLAT and VOLUME region rendering
- Configurable fill opacity, line opacity, Y levels, path width, update interval, and always-on-top rendering
- Keeps compatibility with the existing
config/Bluemap-Mapfrontiers.tomlconfiguration style
Requirements
Server
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge
- BlueMap 5.x
- MapFrontiers 3.x
- Java 21
MapFrontiers' own required dependencies, including JourneyMap where applicable, are still required.
Tested with
- NeoForge 21.1.248
- BlueMap 5.7
- MapFrontiers 3.0.0-beta.12
- JourneyMap 6.0.5
- Java 21
This bridge itself only needs to be installed on the server.
Players who want to view or edit MapFrontiers in-game should still install MapFrontiers on their client as normal.
Installation
Do not install this port alongside the original BlueMapFrontiers JAR.
Both use the bluemapfrontiers mod ID and will conflict.
Replace the original integration with this port when using MapFrontiers 3.
- Install BlueMap and MapFrontiers 3 on your NeoForge 1.21.1 server.
- Place this JAR in the server's
modsfolder. - Start or restart the server.
- Make sure any Global Frontier you want displayed has Webmap visibility enabled in MapFrontiers.
The frontiers will then appear in BlueMap under the MapFrontiers marker set.
The generated configuration file is:
config/Bluemap-Mapfrontiers.toml
