Skinwalker: Living Shapes
- Every shape, exactly: a learned shape keeps the creature's exact look, including a horse's coat and markings, a villager's biome and profession, a sheep's wool, a tropical fish's pattern, a warm cow, a rusty wolf and a calico cat. That covers every variant of every creature, the 26.3 ones included, and modded creatures too.
- Powers the creature really has: left-click the air for its quick move (a skeleton's arrow, a shulker's teleport, a blaze's fireball); press your power key for its signature move (a shulker's bullet, a warden's sonic boom, a squid's ink cloud, a goat's ram, an armadillo rolling up). Right click is always your hand's own.
- Creepers act like creepers: when another player comes close, you hiss, swell and explode. Back off in time and the fuse goes out.
- Special items: skeletons carry a bow, pillagers a crossbow, snow golems snowballs. They sit in their own slot left of the hotbar: scroll left past your first slot to use them. Ammo never runs out, and they're gone when you change shape.
- A shape is the creature's body:
- Spiders climb walls; bats, bees, parrots, allays, phantoms, ghasts and blazes fly.
- Fish and squid breathe only water, and flop about and drown on land.
- Striders walk on lava, and fire-proof creatures never burn.
- Zombies and skeletons burn in the sun, water hurts endermen and blazes, and wardens are blind but sense anything that moves.
- Endermen blink along the ground, never into the sky.
- A shulker sits square on its block, and rabbits and slimes hop.
- Other players treat you as the creature:
- Trade with a villager-shaped player; they get the payment.
- Ride a saddled horse, donkey, mule, camel, pig or strider and steer it. Unsaddled horses throw you off. Saddle a pig- or strider-shaped friend yourself.
- Feed an animal-shaped player its favourite food, and watch its head follow the food in your hand.
- Shapes make their creature's idle sounds.
- Player faces: kill a player to learn their face. Wearing it changes your skin and your name everywhere, even after they've logged off, and you use items and place blocks like anyone.
- Proper hands: every creature shows its own limb in first person, sized and posed like an arm, babies included.
- Better animations: rabbits hop in time with their movement, squid swim continuously, creepers swell, shulkers open to shoot, horses rear, goats lower their heads to ram, armadillos curl up and phantoms pitch the right way.
- Shape menu: drag the scrollbar, and search 600+ looks.
- Admin command:
/bloodline shapes <players> allgives a Skinwalker every creature in every look (600 shapes), andclearremoves them.
Sizes That Feel Right
- Size now sets your pace, Pehkui-style: small bodies walk slower, big ones faster, with longer steps, higher jumps and more reach. Legs, camera bob and stride are all measured against your own size, so every size walks naturally.
Delver
- The headlamp is a real flashlight beam with a set reach: light runs down its length and pools where it lands, spreading wider the further it goes, with dust glinting in the beam. No more flicker.
Shrunk
- Growth Spurt is gone. The new primary, Scurry, is a burst of speed that shakes off whatever is hunting you.
Freezing
- Anything frozen, whether by frostbite or powder snow, turns ice blue and sheds snowflakes and mist. Frozen players see the powder-snow frost on their screen.
Particles
- Fixed a bug that made most bloodline particles vanish after a single tick. Auras, trails and bursts now show properly.
- New animated effects (a shockwave racing along the ground, a vortex winding upward, a travelling pulse and a swelling nova) are used across 38 abilities in 20 bloodlines.
- The Pixie now leaves fairy dust hanging in the air behind it.
Looks
- Every skin overlay repainted:
- Clockwork: riveted brass plates with a chest gear
- Golemkin: cracked iron with creeping vines
- Shulk: a shulker shell and face
- Dragonkin and Merling: scales with a pale belly
- Dryad: bark and moss
- Frostborn: rime and ice
- Also: sculk veins, ember and storm cracks, bee stripes, hand wraps, shadow tatters, an enderman's flecked hide and a bloodless pallor
- New models:
- Merling fins that show from every side
- A domed Sporeling cap
- A proper wind-up key
- A solid Dryad leaf crown
- A real Frostborn ice crown
- The Skinwalker changes shape in a spiral of pale shards.
- Avian wings show their feathers while gliding.
Fixes
- Enderian Void Step lands on the block under your crosshair. Looking at open air, you blink along the way you face, never into the sky.
- Starting in the End (and Rift Walk) always puts you on the island.
- Gildborn Barter works again.
- Clockwork Discharge fires as a straight, level beam.
- No more green "slime" bursts on landing: fall dust is sized to your body.
- Cats, foxes and ocelots no longer run from the Shrunk they're hunting, from their kin (Feline, Kitsune), or from someone wearing their shape. Hunting wolves press the attack.
- The mastery bar and circumstance chips moved next to your ability slots.
- Villager shapes walk at a normal pace.
For Addon Makers
- New particle shapes:
world:shockwave,world:vortex,world:pulseandworld:nova. - Auras accept
life(seconds) to make particles linger. p:shape_power("left")uses a shape's left-click power.
