Mod Description

This mod is focused on everything around cooking and food preparing using variety of cooking stations such as cutting board, stove, grill, juicer, mixer and much more. Adds +200 more new items and blocks. Completely rebalances vanilla food values and add new more complex mechanics for cooking meals. So prepare yourself to become a true master chef in Minecraft world.

Basic Features

Water bar

Adds new water bar so your character now also needs to be hydrated.

Crops

This mod offers more than +20 new crops and fruit trees scattered around the world so when you log in the world for the first time try to look around and try to find some before setting up your own kitchen. Bear in mind that some crops and trees grow in different biomes.

Farming

When you gather some wild crops around the world you can simply farm them in the plowed soil as you usually do in vanilla but those crops grows slower, and you can not use bone meal on them. You can collect ripe crops with RMB so they always stay planted.

Weeds

Beware of weeds infesting your farm. After a while weed starts to occur in your farm, and you need to get rid of it before it will destroy your crops. To remove these pesky weeds you need to use a hoe with RMB. Only the fully grown weed can destroy your plant so you don't need to treat your garden everytime you see some tiny weeds. Wow, netherite hoe finally got its purpose. :-)

Orchards

As you collect some wild fruits from trees you can combine three of them with vanilla sapling to make your own fruit tree that can be planted anywhere you want. Again after the tree will grow you can not use bone meal on fruits to speed up growing process.

Tree fruit decay

When fruits on a tree reach the ripe stage you need to harvest them before they fall on the ground, and you will not be able to use them. Don't worry after fruit falling or harvesting they will keep regrowing again and again so you don't need to plant the tree anymore. Just from time to time check your orchard and collect all ripe fruits.

Cooking ware

Every cooking ware in BlockyChef is essential for preparing drinks and meals so try to craft them all. There are a lot of machines you can use for cooking but beware that some of them need coal, water or oil to operate properly.

Furniture

You can craft some decorative blocks to make your kitchen look better. Kitchen counters and cabinets are also useful for its accessible storage. All those blocks are dyeable with Minecraft dyes and even some cooking ware can be dyed as well for example Mixer, Stove, Pasta machine, Juicer and more.

Advanced Features

Burning and overcooking

When you will be using any heat related cooking ware (pot, saucepan, pan, stove, teapot and grill) you need to pay attention to food preparation requirements. Firstly you need to set proper temperature. Too low temperature will cause the food to never be cooked. Too high temperatures will lead food to burn. You also need to add oil to frying pan or water to pot so the food will not burn instantly. When you set all things in the right values you still can burn the food if you don't stir/flip it during a cooking process. So make sure that red indicator never reaches max value, otherwise it will burn your food, and you will waste all ingredients. After the food is done you need to put it out from cooking were quickly because once the food is prepared it starts to overcook.

Vaporizing

Vaporizing is similar mechanics as overcooking, but it's for teapot. When your drink is ready, turn off the heat in teapot or it will vaporize after a while.

Mixer's power

Be careful when using a mixer. When you are operating it make sure to start with low power. Using high power may cause your ingredients splash all over the kitchen wasting all its contents.

Toaster's timer

When using a toaster make sure you set the right amount of time for toasting. If you set too short interval the food will not cook. And if you use too long interval the food will burn.

Food Quality

As you will be preparing certain types of foods and drinks you will see that item has its quality. Quality of the food is randomly rolled and is influenced by the level of your mastery skill. Quality also determines the nutrition of the meal. The higher the quality the better nutrition you can get. There are five qualities:

Bad > -1 hunger/hydration and -1 saturation
Average > Normal nutrition
Good > +1 hunger/hydration
Great > +1 hunger/hydration +1 saturation
Perfect > +2 hunger/hydration +2 saturation

Food Masteries

When you press "O" key you will see Food mastery overlay. Here is the list of all foods and drinks that can be mastered and can have qualities. To get higher Mastery tier you need to cook that specific item several times. Current mastery tier is represented by the colour of the frame around the item icon. The number under that item shows you how many times you already prepared this meal. The higher mastery tier you get, the greater the chance that you will get food of higher quality when it is cooked. There are currently six tiers of mastery.

Tier 0 - Grey (you start here)
Tier 1 - Bronze (cook food 15x)
Tier 2 - Silver (cook food 35x)
Tier 3 - Gold (cook food 60x)
Tier 4 - Emerald (cook food 90x)
Tier 5 - Diamond (cook food 130x)

Energy

Stove and grill needs some energy to generate heat for cooking (stove also generates heat for pan, saucepan, pot and teapot). Stove accepts all kinds of fuel same as vanilla furnace. So you can put into stove coal, wood or even lava bucket. Grill can use only coal and charcoal.
