This mod adds ores that give you drops you would get from mobs typically, adding an additional way to get them. It also adds a new type of tree that grows underground, some new items that you may find useful, and an experience ore that drops experience crystals that can be used to quickly gain levels.
A full run down of every ore added by this mod:
- Blaze Powder Ore [+Deepslate Variant]: Drops 3 Blaze Powder. Blaze Powder ore is unique in that it can act as a fire trap when walked on, so be careful!
- Ender Pearl Ore [+Deepslate Variant]: Drops 1 Ender Pearl, which can additionally be smelted into Endyster Ingots to create decorative blocks or be smithed to create a Endyster Pickaxe upgrade for a Diamond Pickaxe, allowing you to teleport entities a random number of blocks away on hit.
- Slime Ball Ore [+Magma Cream Deepslate Variant]: Drops 3 Slime Balls when mined and becomes a Magma Cream ore in the Deepslate layer.
- Crying Ore [+Deepslate Variant]: Drops a Ghast Tear when mined.
- Fossil Ore [+more]: This drops bones primarily, but also has a chance of dropping sherds, sniffer eggs, or a nautilus.
- Rotten Flesh Ore [+Fresh Flesh Deepslate Variant]: Drops 10 Rotten Flesh when mined, which can now be smelted into Leather. Fresh Flesh can be found in the Deepslate layer, dropping 4 Fresh Flesh when mined which are a better source of food and can be crafted into leather.
- Phantom Membrane Ore [+Deepslate Variant, End Stone Variant]: Drops 5 Phantom Membrane when mined.
- Glow Ink Ore [+Deepslate Variant]: Drops 8 Glow Ink Sacs when mined and glows in the dark.
- Gunpowder Ore [+Charged Gunpowder Deepslate Variant]: Drops 4 Gunpowder when mined. In the deepslate level, this metamorphizes into Charged Gunpowder instead, which allows for a boosted TNT crafting recipe (10 TNT instead of 1 TNT) or one can use a Golden Pickaxe to craft a Charged Explosive Pickaxe, which allows 32 explosive hits with a pickaxe perfect for mining Netherite.
- Shulker Shell Ore [+Deepslate Variant, End Stone Variant]: Drops 2 Shulker Shells when mined.
- Spider Eye Ore [+Deepslate Variant]: Drops 4 Spider Eyes when mined.
- Echo Shard Ore [+Sculk Variant]: Found in the Deepslate level, drops 3 Echo Shards when mined.
- Totemite Ore [+Deepslate Variant]: Drops Unrefined Totemite, which can be smelted into Totemite Ingots. Totemite Ingots can be used to create decorative blocks or be crafted into Totems of Undying (provided you have a Jack O Lantern to form the head).
- Xpeterite Ore [+Deepslate Variant, Obsidian Variant, Reinforced Deepslate Variant, Bedrock Variant, Crystal Cluster Variant, Geode Variant]: Drops Xpeterite, which can be consumed to gain a level of experience.
- Petrified Wood Trees: These elusive underground trees can be mined to get Petrified Wood, which can be used to craft your typical wooden goods but also the leaves break into Beetroot and often contain elusive Orewood variants of Gold, Iron, Redstone, Emerald, and Lapis ores.
Additionally, there are compressed storage blocks for Blaze Powder, Ender Pearls, Ghast Tears, Phantom Membrane, Glow Ink Sacs, and Gunpowder.
Changelog
- 1.1.0: Added Endyster and Totemite Stairs and Walls, added End's Scythe, Ecton Scythe, Gilded Hammer, and Soulflame Hammer as additional tools, added additional materials for smithing said tools as well as other functions (Blaze Bone, Ender Bone, Phantom Coal, Phantom Powder, Ender Coal, Blazed Coal, Hamtasm, and Cooked Hamtasm). This was to give the ores more uses for the player in addition to adding helpful new mechanics. Petrified Planks, Petrified Wood, and Orewoods all are properly tagged under their block and item types, giving them proper functionality.
- 1.2.0:
- All ore textures have been updated along with a couple of item and other block changes.
- Ores now use proper spawning mechanisms as opposed to using cave air to generate.
- Some ores now intentionally spawn in the Nether and End now, complete with Netherrack and End Stone variants.
- New ores: Dye Ore, Feather Ore, Fossil Ore Variants, Warped Lazuli Ore
- Dye Ore appears in all three dimensions, being a rainbow colored ore that randomly drops a dye when mined.
- Feather Ore appears in the Overworld and Nether, giving you access to feathers, flint, and chicken. There also new feathers that can drop and be used to make standard arrows for now.
- Fossil Ore got a revamp, with many new variants that can appear in different biomes and dimensions. Each has a different loot pool that drops different things, such as new decorative blocks, different types of pottery sherds, armor trims, and more.
- Warped Lazuli appears in the nether, giving you a cyan dye. In the future this will have more of a purpose, although it can be used with any of the starting potions (Mundane, Awkward, and Thick) to create strong potions.
- Echo Shard Ore now has a loot table that has new items that allow you to craft sculk blocks of many types.
- Phantom Cytoplasm has a full block set now, in addition to Endyster and Totemite Bricks having their own stonecutter recipes, allowing them to be properly used in that device. Additionally, Xpeterite has its own block set in addition to an Enchantment Crystal, which can be used in place of book shelves for three times the enchanting power. Warped Lazuli also has its own block set.
- Xpeterite now gives 15 experience as opposed to a whole experience level. The ore itself also has much more variants such as Obsidian, Reinforced Deepslate, and Bedrock, which take longer to mine but can be done so with any pickaxe and rewards more Xpeterite and XP.
- Nether Portal Post is a new debug block that instantly teleports you to the Nether.
BLOAT is a collection of mods that aim to be easy to put into modpacks, mostly being variations of Vanilla features to enhance existing albeit underutilized features. Each BLOAT mod exists as a module, so you can pick and choose what features you want to add.
BLOAT gets its name from some of Quark's reasoning for cutting smaller features. These are meant to be small mods that just bring to life small ideas I've thought about or adding features from mods I personally missed that were either removed or haven't been updated.
Each BLOAT mod has its source code and assets completely open source. Hopefully the scope and documentation can keep mods like these fully up to date even if I stop making them.
