What's new

New World Preset: Solar System

  • Explore floating biosphere systems with 1–16 configurable planets, each on its own orbit.
  • Customize planet sizes, height, spacing between planets, and distance between systems.
  • Choose the climate direction: warm inner planets and cold outer planets, or the reverse, with a temperate middle zone.
  • Each system features a central magma-and-lava or packed-ice biosphere containing a Stronghold.
  • Optional ghast, blaze, and phantom guardians defend the system’s center.
  • A new violet guide star points toward the center of your current system. This navigation aid can be disabled.
  • Players initially spawn on the natural surface of a temperate planet.
  • Mineral moons, edge oceans, shell materials, and bedrock modes have independent Solar settings.
  • Explore between planets without automatic bridges.

Configuration and Saved Worlds

  • Separate configuration files under config/biosphereworlds/:
    • BiosphereWorlds.toml for classic Biospheres.
    • SolarSystems.toml for Solar System.
  • Previous configuration files are automatically copied to the new location, preserving the originals without overwriting existing files.
  • New worlds save their generation settings. Later TOML changes do not alter those worlds’ saved settings.
  • Existing classic worlds retain their previous configuration behavior.

Fixes and Improvements

  • Fixed player repositioning when logging in or respawning on a biosphere shell, with support for Solar worlds.
  • Improved isolation of generation and configuration between worlds.
  • Stricter validation of radii, blocks, and mineral catalogs, with clearer diagnostics for invalid configurations.
  • Solar moon placement now adjusts to the build-height limit when sufficient space is available.
  • Added Solar biome integration with TerraBlender and support for central Stronghold replacements.

Updating

  • Create a new world using the Solar System preset to experience the new generation.
  • Enable “Generate Structures” when creating a Solar world.
  • Existing chunks are not regenerated.
  • For new worlds that save their generation settings, subsequent TOML changes apply to newly created worlds.
