Biomes O' Classic 3.0.0
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Biomes O' Classic 3.0.0 — The Skysea Update
The Promised Land needs a new world. Its world height changed (bottom went from y-64 to y-192, total height 384 to 512), so existing Promised Land dimensions will not line up with newly generated chunks.
Overworld saves are unaffected.
New biomes
- Skysea a deep sea in the Promised Land, with a sunken sea floor, reefs and flooded caverns beneath it.
- Skybeach the shore that rings the Skysea.
New mob
- Shrimp a small, harmless swimmer of the Skysea. Drops raw shrimp. Spawned with shrimp roe.
New structures
- Abyss Ruin a ruin under the sea, marked from the beach above.
- Sunken Skysea ruins scattered remains of a drowned civilisation on the sea floor.
- Urns in both sets hold loot.
The Shadow Urn
Making one
- Craft an Urn from abyssal aqua stone and a slab.
- Ring it with eight abyssal goop to get a Shadow Urn.
Attuning it
- Right-click with a gem to set its channel. Sneak-click to take the gem back.
- Eight channels, one per gem: amethyst, malachite, peridot, ruby, sapphire, tanzanite, topaz and azurite.
- Without a gem it is just an urn, holding its own contents.
What a channel is
- Every shadow urn on the same gem shares one inventory, worldwide and across dimensions.
- Each channel holds nine item slots, a fluid tank and an energy buffer.
- Channels are shared by everyone on the server, not private like an ender chest. That is the point: the urn at the far end does not have to belong to you.
- Hoppers, pipes and cables can all push and pull, so a channel is a wireless link between two machines that never have to be in the same chunk.
It knows when you are there
- Walk within five blocks and a shadow urn wakes: it rocks on its base, breathes out a little shadow, and lifts its gem into the air so you can read its channel from across the room. Step away and the gem settles back inside.
New items
- Pearl Staff the sea's counterpart to the Shadow Staff. Three attacks, and it lets you breathe and move freely underwater while held.
