## Overview
**Bing Agriculture Extend** is a self-contained farming add-on. Drop it in and it works — **no dependencies required**.
It exists to fix the things that actually annoy farmers: seeds and crops piling up with nowhere to go, an inventory that is never big enough, harvesting and replanting one block at a time, and chasing animals around to feed them. So everything in here is practical — no new dimensions, no new ores, just less repetitive work. A few handy tools came along for the ride, like the bee net and the feeding trough.

## Portable storage: the bags
Four bags — **Seed Bag** and **Crop Bag**, each in a regular (9×3 = 27 slots) and an advanced (9×5 = 45 slots) size.
- **It only auto-collects while in your hotbar.** Picked-up seeds and crops go into the bag first, even when your inventory is full. Keep it deeper in your inventory and it is still a perfectly good container — it just stops collecting.
- **Quick stash:** pick an item up in your inventory and any bag that can hold it lights up with a border and a `*`. Left- or right-click that bag to put the whole stack in.
- **Empty it in one click:** sneak + right-click a chest or any other container to dump the entire bag into it.
- **Whitelist row:** the bottom row of the bag's screen is a set of ghost slots. Leave it empty (the default) and the bag accepts everything its tag allows; put items in it and the bag accepts only those.
- Contents travel with the item, so they survive death drops and being thrown on the ground.
---
## Bulk planting
Sneak + right-click the ground with a **Seed Bag** to sow an area centred on the block you clicked — 3×3 for the regular bag, 5×5 for the advanced one.
- **Only one crop is planted per swing**, so you never end up with a patchwork field. The bag picks it for you: seeds rank ahead of saplings, then whichever covers the most ground, then whichever sits earliest in the bag (drag a stack to the front to force your choice).
- If there are not enough seeds to fill the area it simply plants fewer — **it will never top up with a different seed**.
- Where a seed can go is decided by the seed itself, so wheat needs farmland, saplings need grass or dirt, nether wart needs soul sand — and **crops from other mods work with no compatibility patch**.
- **Positions holding a fluid are skipped**, so sowing never drains a paddy field. Crops that keep their own water once placed — rice and the like — are unaffected and can be sown straight into a flooded field.

## Your surplus seeds finally do something: the Compost Bin
Throw the seeds and crops you have been hoarding in, and they **turn into bone meal**.
- Values: **1 point per seed, 2 per harvested crop**; every **8 points** yields 1 bone meal.
- The bin processes its contents every **60 seconds**. It stores up to 100 compost, pauses when the output slot is full, and resumes once you clear it.
- **Advanced Compost Barrel:** the input area grows from 2 rows to 3 (27 slots) and the cap rises to 300.
- The output slot is take-only, so a hopper underneath will haul the bone meal away for you.
- What it accepts is driven by item tags, covering the usual seeds and crops by default — **crops from other mods work automatically as long as they use the common tags**.
Every value above is adjustable in the server config.

## Feeding Trough: the animals come to you
Fill it with feed and **nearby animals walk over, eat, and enter love mode** on their own. No more hand-feeding one animal at a time.
- Default range is a **16×16** area centred on the trough (4 blocks up and down).
- **What counts as feed is decided by each animal** — it uses the same check the game uses when you feed by hand. Cows eat wheat, pigs carrots, chickens seeds, bees flowers, and **animals added by other mods work with no compatibility code**.
- **Pick a species on the trough's screen first.** That trough will then feed only that species; with nothing selected it does nothing at all.
- Each animal has a **30 second cooldown** between meals. Once the species reaches its cap (8 by default, **adjustable per species on the screen**) the trough stops attracting and feeding it.
- It also requires at least 2 breedable animals of that species nearby — feeding a lone animal produces nothing.
- **Only adults are fed.** Babies are skipped so they cannot hog the feed or fill up the population cap.
- Sneak + right-click with an empty hand to outline the current range with particles.
**You can see what a trough is stocked with from the outside:** grain, root vegetables, seeds and flowers each look different (they are drawn with the actual item sprites), anything unrecognised shows as a generic heap, and an empty trough shows bare wood. One glance from across the pasture tells you which one needs topping up.

## Poultry Coop: stop picking eggs off the ground
Birds that are about to lay **walk over and lay in the coop**, with a **25%** chance of an extra feather. 3 columns × 2 rows, 6 slots.
- **Nothing is lost if a bird does not make it.** Too far away, walled off, or the coop is full, and it simply lays on the spot exactly as it always would. This mod never intercepts the vanilla egg logic — it just gets the egg into the coop before vanilla's timer fires — so eggs can **neither be duplicated nor destroyed**.
- **Laying speed is identical to vanilla.** The coop saves you the walk, not the wait; the feathers are its real payoff.
- The coop is only half a block tall, so birds step up and lay while standing on it. Eggs and feathers inside **show on the outside**, so you know when to empty it without opening it.
- **Output only:** a hopper can pull eggs out (which is the whole point), but nothing can be piped in — a coop stuffed with junk would leave the birds nowhere to lay. You can still place items by hand through the screen.

## Sickle: reap a whole patch, and it replants itself
Right-click the ground and every **ripe** crop in a **7×7** area is harvested at once, then immediately regrows as a seedling — **no replanting to do afterwards**.
- **Crops that are not ripe are never touched**, so swinging at a half-grown field is completely safe.
- Two layers are scanned, so right-clicking **bare farmland** still reaches the crops standing on it.
- Ripeness is not read from a list of known crops — the sickle asks the block itself whether its growth stage has topped out. Wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot, nether wart, cocoa, sweet berry bushes and **crops added by other mods** all work automatically, and paddy crops keep their water when cut.
- Melon stems, pumpkin stems and bamboo are skipped: for those, "fully grown" does not mean "ready to cut".
- **Wild crops** — edible plants that grow in the world on their own and have no growth stages — are cut and taken in one go, never replanted.
- It also clears grass, ferns and dead bushes in range. **Flowers and saplings are left alone**, since those are planted on purpose (this part can be switched off in the config).
- 2000 durability, 1 point per block harvested, repaired with diamonds. Takes **Fortune** (harvesting runs the block's own loot table, so yields really do rise), plus Unbreaking and Mending.

## Other tools
**Sheep Charmer's Shears** — right-click one sheep and every shearable animal within 3 blocks is sheared at once, up to 12 per use. While you hold it, nearby woolly animals wander over on their own and freshly shorn ones step aside, so there is no chasing. 119 durability, 1 point per animal. Apart from that it is an ordinary pair of shears: leaves, cobwebs, pumpkins and beehives all work as normal.
**Bee Net** — right-click a bee to scoop it into the net, right-click a beehive or nest to put it inside, or any other block to release it on the spot. The bee's health, age and nectar are preserved exactly. While holding the net, looking at a hive **shows how many bees are inside** — a number the game never displays otherwise. 30 uses, spent only when releasing a bee, so the net can only break while empty and never takes a bee down with it.
**Fertilizer Sprayer** — a 3×3 tank of 9 slots that holds bone meal only (576 at full). Right-click, or hold it down to keep spraying, and every plant in a **5×5** area gets one application at 1 bone meal each. **Keep it in your hotbar and press N to open it at any time**; sneak + right-click a container to pull all of its bone meal into the tank. The coloured bar under the slot is the **bone meal level, not durability** — it never wears out and never disappears when empty.

## Compatibility
This mod has **no dependencies** and runs with or without anything else. The following are optional and take effect automatically when present:
- **Farmer's Delight** and **Pam's HarvestCraft 2** — their crops and seeds are recognised by the bags and the compost bin out of the box.
- **Kaleidoscope Cookery** — its rice can be fertilised with the sprayer, and an extra recipe appears that upgrades its sickle into this mod's sickle.
- **Untitled Duck Mod** — ducks and geese breed at the feeding trough and walk to the poultry coop to lay (ducks also drop the occasional duck feather).
- **JEI** — every item has an info page, plus a dedicated **Composting** category so you can look up exactly how many seeds one bone meal costs.
What the bags accept, what can be composted, and what the sickle harvests are all driven by **datapack tags**. Well-behaved mods therefore work with zero configuration, and if one of them forgets to tag something you can add a line with a datapack instead of waiting for an update.

## Configuration
Almost every value is adjustable in the server config, with an in-game screen at **ESC → Mods → Bing Agriculture Extend → Config**: compost values and speed, the trough's attraction range and feeding cooldown, the coop's range and feather chance, the sickle's and sprayer's area and cooldown, the shears' radius, and more.
