What's new

BiggerReactors-Rework 0.1.6

Shared release notes for Minecraft 1.21.1, 26.1.2, and 26.3 on NeoForge.

Reactors and heat exchangers

  • Rebuilt reactor heat production around actual fuel consumption. Each mB of fuel produces 12,500 kJ. Reactor size, available fuel, and control rods determine the burn rate. Manifold contact and useful interior space determine how much heat a liquid-cooled reactor can use.
  • Passive cooling now uses each moderator's own conductivity. Mixed materials contribute to the same heat budget, and air provides 5% cooling, allowing even a compact passive reactor to produce power.
  • Reactor statistics show generated heat, heat available for conversion, and where losses occur. Poor coolant supply or blocked outputs can waste heat from fuel already burned.
  • Heat exchangers process fixed coolant recipes and support multiple channel paths per circuit. A direct channel link handles 2,000 mB/t of hot coolant. Air gaps reduce throughput, and water and steam channels hold four times as much fluid per block as coolant channels.

Turbines

  • Steam flow controls rotor speed up to 2,200 RPM. The default 100% efficiency bands are 900–1,000 and 1,800–1,900 RPM. Efficiency ramps up before each band and falls above the upper band. Steam beyond the intake limit stays in the inlet tank.
  • Diamond blocks can now serve as turbine coils. Each block handles 1,250 mB/t at a base yield of 7.25 FE per mB of steam. Different coil materials can share the same turbine.
  • Fixed coil distance calculations in every rotor orientation, including machines built far from the world origin. Updated the tachometer, guide, and statistics to explain the new operating bands.

Industrial Processor and coolants

  • The Industrial Processor recycles cyanite into blutonium and makes Liquid Obsidian. It also combines 1 Blue Ice and 200 mB of Liquid Obsidian to produce 100 mB of Frozen Obsidian. The guide shows each recipe's inputs, output, energy cost, and processing time.
  • Frozen Obsidian glows and produces 40 mB of steam per 10 mB of heated coolant in a heat exchanger. When placed in the world, it freezes entities. Placed heated coolant burns them.
  • Liquid Obsidian, Frozen Obsidian, and heated coolant use water-like movement and currents. Liquid Obsidian has purple splashes and bubbles, and Frozen Obsidian has cyan splashes and bubbles.
  • Heated Coolant Buckets preserve the coolant's origin. The heated appearance follows that origin in tanks, recipe cards, and placed flows. A dedicated red texture is used when the origin is unavailable.
  • Steam now has a translucent, animated white texture and travels through tanks and pipes.

Ports and automation

  • Configured outlets automatically send fluids or items to compatible neighbors. Balanced Outputs can distribute reactor coolant, heat exchanger products, and turbine condensate across multiple accepting outlets.
  • Coolant recovery is available from the reactor's cold inlet and both heat exchanger inlets. It pauses filling through the selected port and makes the stored input available for collection.
  • Reactor item outlets automatically send cyanite. Fuel inlets can recover stored fuel. Existing fuel outlets migrate to inlets with fuel recovery enabled.
  • Port selectors and labels use distinct colors for the current mode. On the heat exchanger's coolant circuit, the hot inlet is red and the cold outlet is cyan.
  • Improved hot and cold coolant transfers through pipes and compatible containers. Coolants retain their identity, and refused or cancelled transfers preserve the stored fluid.

Battery, guide, and interface

  • The battery terminal has a compact Statistics tab with a charge bar and percentage, cell count, stored energy, total capacity, and current and maximum input and output rates.
  • The battery's lower slot can discharge a charged cell into the multiblock, subject to available capacity and the input limit. The cell stays in the slot and keeps any charge that could not be transferred.
  • Assembled empty battery cells show steady blue bars, and charged cells show animated bars. Removed the brown stripe between vertically connected cells.
  • Moved Balanced Outputs directly below the reactor's activity control and shortened the terminal panel. Long numeric values in recipe viewers now scroll within their own column.
  • The guide shows finished multiblocks with casing or glass walls. Layer previews show each block individually. The customization guide now covers the thermal rules, port recovery, and turbine settings.
