What's new

1.0.20 (all changes since 1.0.8)

Added

  • Simply Swords chakram support (optional dependency). Simply Swords' own Better Combat data only ever played one throw animation for a single chakram and left the author's throw_chakram_right and pose_chakram_idle animations unused. Chakrams now alternate left/right throws with the idle pose when held singly; dual-wielding two chakrams keeps the author's original throw + spin attacks. Chakrams from other mods (item id/tag containing chakram, with a melee attack-damage attribute) use the same motion; turn that part off with the applyChakramMotionToOtherMods config option.
  • Per-item Better Combat weapon type. New [weaponTemplates] config section lists weapons (Epic Fight Nightfall / Weapons of Miracles by default) with a pick-from-list entry each; AUTO uses the Epic Fight category. A manual choice takes priority over both the Epic Fight category and Better Combat's own fallback regex, applies as soon as the config is saved, and reverting to AUTO un-registers it. Items not in the list can be added with extraItemTemplates ("namespace:path=template"). Every applied override is logged as [efbcswitch] <item> -> bettercombat:<type>.
  • bcSupportBlacklist config (empty by default): items to exclude from Better Combat support entirely, even if another mod/datapack already registered them. Accepts exact ids or * wildcards, e.g. "efn:*", "cdmoveset:*yamato*".

Changed

  • Epic Fight Nightfall (efn:*) and Yamato (cdmoveset:*yamato*) items are no longer hard-excluded from Better Combat. They now get a Better Combat type like any other weapon (Yamato/Kusabimaru/Murasama default to KATANA, Exsilium Gladius to SWORD, etc.). To restore the old behavior, add "efn:*" and "cdmoveset:*yamato*" to bcSupportBlacklist.
  • Any item whose id contains scythe and has no Better Combat attributes yet now gets the scythe template; efn:crimson_moon is set to SCYTHE by default.
  • Default per-item types were tuned (e.g. both Exsilium Gladius blades default to SWORD).
