Better Clock

Time should be more than just a number.

Better Clock is a vanilla-inspired Fabric mod that expands Minecraft's timekeeping system with interactive clocks, daily alarms, decorative clock blocks, and redstone automation.

Whether you're decorating your home, keeping track of the day-night cycle, setting reminders, or building timed redstone mechanisms, Better Clock brings practical timekeeping tools into your Minecraft world while preserving the familiar vanilla aesthetic.

Features

Interactive Clock & Daily Alarms

• View the current in-game time and day-night phase through an interactive clock interface.
• Keep track of dawn, dusk, and the changing time of day.
• Set daily alarms using an interactive clock dial.
• Receive an in-game reminder when an alarm is triggered.

Placeable Clocks

Bring timekeeping into your Minecraft builds with three functional clock blocks:

• Wall Clock — A decorative clock designed to fit naturally into your home.
• Alarm Clock — A placeable clock with alarm functionality.
• Redstone Clock — A configurable clock that generates timed redstone signals.

Wall clocks can also be combined with floor alarm clocks to create a pendulum-clock arrangement.

Redstone Timing

The Redstone Clock provides configurable timing functionality for redstone builds.

• Set pulse intervals using game ticks.
• Switch between interval-based and daily timing modes.
• Use timed redstone signals to automate your creations.

Admin Clock

A specialized clock for server operators and administrators.

Authorized users can:

• Adjust the Overworld time.
• Control the daylight progression rate.
• Modify the random tick speed.

Note: Administrative features require operator permissions.

Crafting Recipes

Better Clock introduces several new clock blocks, each with its own crafting recipe.

Wall Clock

A decorative clock designed for placement in your builds.

Alarm Clock

A clock that combines decorative elements with daily reminder functionality.

Redstone Clock

A configurable clock designed for redstone timing and automation.

Admin Clock

A special clock intended for administrative use.

Important: The Admin Clock recipe requires bedrock, which cannot normally be obtained in Survival Mode. Using its administrative controls also requires operator permissions.

Why Better Clock?

Minecraft already has a clock, but its functionality is limited.

Better Clock builds on that familiar concept, transforming clocks into useful tools for everyday survival, creative building, and redstone engineering.

The goal is simple: make clocks more interactive, functional, and enjoyable without sacrificing Minecraft's original style.

Planned Features

Better Clock is still in development, and additional features are planned for future updates.

• Countdown Timer — Set custom countdowns for in-game activities.
• Stopwatch — Measure elapsed time and record lap times.
• Further improvements based on development progress and community feedback.

Please note: Countdown and stopwatch functionality are not included in the current beta release.

Compatibility & Requirements

Fabric API Requirements

• Minecraft 26.1.1: Fabric API 0.145.4 or newer, compatible with 26.1.1.
• Minecraft 26.1.2: Fabric API 0.155.3 or newer, compatible with 26.1.2.

Important: Download the Better Clock file specifically built for your Minecraft version. The two versions are distributed separately.

Installation

1. Install Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version.
2. Download and install the matching Fabric API.
3. Download the corresponding Better Clock .jar file.
4. Place both Fabric API and Better Clock into your Minecraft mods folder.
5. Launch Minecraft using your Fabric installation.

Additional Notes

• Some time-related features may be unavailable in dimensions without a readable day-night cycle.
• Administrative time controls require appropriate operator permissions.
• Better Clock is currently in beta. Feedback and bug reports are welcome.
