Beltworks 0.5.4
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
- Feeders now swing an arm like Factorio's inserters, carrying what they move from head to tail at their tier's inserter's pace: about 0.6, 0.83, 2.3 and 4.6 items a second chest to chest, by tier, slower where one end reaches further than the other and faster to a turned tail. A tier 4 feeder carries two items a swing. A tier 1 feeder needs no power by default, even when
loadersNeedPoweris on, and a powered feeder pays as its hand grabs; any tier'sfeederJoulesPerItemmay now be 0, which runs it unpowered. A server config saved by an earlier version keeps tier 1's old figure: setfeederJoulesPerItem.beltto 0 for the new default (5thlayer/beltworks#116). - What a feeder's hand holds is never lost: breaking the feeder drops it beside the feeder, swapping it for another tier keeps it, dropping only what a smaller hand can't hold, and a feeder whose tail stops accepting mid-swing waits over it holding the items until one does (5thlayer/beltworks#117).
- A feeder is drawn like a Factorio inserter: one arm of three segments on a plate turning on its slate base, which swings from head to tail with what its hand holds, folding or stretching to each end's reach and coming down to the top of what each end holds, low over a belt and higher over a chest, and rests over the head in the Placement Preview. Its column, two fixed arms, nozzle and spout are gone, and with them the item drawn going into the head. Its filter shows on its base's sides, and it collides only with its base and plate (5thlayer/beltworks#118).
- Feeders have a new look: a textured base and turntable, a ribbed arm in their tier's colour, and a pincer that closes on what it carries and opens as it lets go. The textures are Malcolm Riley's, from unused-textures (5thlayer/beltworks#119).
