Description
Bee Hotel
Bee Hotel adds a single wall-mounted block: the Bee Hotel. Hang it on a wall
near flowers and crops, and solitary bees move in. While they are there, they
quietly tend the farmland around them.
What it does
- Houses 0–3 solitary bees, shown by the block model.
- Counts vanilla flowers within 5 blocks. Two flowers support one bee, up to a
maximum of three.
- During clear daytime, every 30 seconds it advances one random crop within
5 blocks by one growth stage.
- Emits happy-villager particles at the crop it tends.
- Right-click to show the current occupancy in the action bar. If there are no
flowers within 5 blocks, it shows a hint instead.
- Is mineable by hand; an axe is faster.
Why use it
A Bee Hotel turns a flower garden into a small, passive farming helper without
adding bee entities, honey production, or a GUI. It is deliberately simple: one
block, one recipe, and a visible 0–3 bee occupancy state that shows whether the
hotel is working.
What it does not do
- No honey, honeycomb, bee items, or new bee entities.
- No GUI, config, networking, or world generation.
- No bonemeal-style instant growth. It advances one crop stage every 30 seconds.
- Does not work at night, in rain, or during thunderstorms.
- Does not support custom crops that do not extend `CropBlock`; stems and nether
wart are skipped.
Crafting
- 6x any planks
- 2x bamboo
- 1x honeycomb
Output: 1 Bee Hotel
Placement
Place the Bee Hotel within 5 blocks of flowers and crops. It faces the
direction you are looking, matching a furnace. The occupancy model updates every
30 seconds (600 ticks).
