This mod allows players to set spawns by just right-clicking beds without needing to sleep in it, similar to Bedrock. This does not allow respawning in the nether or end, but does allow respawn in any other dimension. This respawn point also moves with Warpdrive ships.
How it works: when a bed is right-clicked, your spawn point will be saved to the bed. It will send you a chat and play a sound (an iron door closing) to show that it saved. In version 1.1 (for 1.12.2) when you break your bed, it will reset your spawn point and send you a message.
This mod is required both client- and server-side.

Wow, 11k and counting downloads! Glad y'all like it! I don't play Minecraft anymore, but I'm glad I helped more of y'all enjoy the game I grew up on. Maybe I'll come back to this so that I can make it more like Bedrock, but it seems like you guys enjoy it as-is.
DISCLAIMER: This mod is not maintained, and there are issues present with console spam and spawnpoint not resetting upon the bed breaking.
