Steam Boiler:
There are two boilers for now: A Fired Boiler operating on furnace fuel and a Solar Boiler operation on sunlight.
The Fired Boiler uses water rather quickly, you may want to look at a Water Pump.
The Solar Boiler doesn't produce much Steam on its own, but can be boosted with a Solar Focus and Solar Mirrors.
Fluid Pumping:
There are two pumps in this mod. A Pump for Water and one for Lava. Both require Steam and need to be positioned above a specific source Block. The Water Pump needs blocks of water, the Magma Pump blocks of Bedrock. The more blocks the better.
Piping & Item Transport:
The Fluid Pipes transport every fluid they receive to the first possible destination they find. The Advanced Pipes can be filtered to limit which fluids are allowed to pass towards the specified direction.
The Item Slides need to be connected with a Plate Bundle. The items are transported from the higher side to the lower. A steeper angle means faster transport speed.
Ore Processing:
The Ore Processing consists of:
Endering Ore Accumulator
High Pressure Ore Washer
Steampowered Crusher
Steaming Furnace
The single steps in the chain have a chance to increase the output, therefor the output of a single ore can be from 4-9 ingots in the full setup.
Machine Augmentation;
Most machines in this mod come with a Gearbox, initially empty.
The Gearbox can be opened with the button left next to the Gui. The red exclamation mark signifies an issue with the gearbox.
Inside the gearbox is a 9x9 grid. Two slots are marked: The Input & Output. These two slots must be connected with gears in order for the machine to work.
The gears come in different sizes based on the material of the gear. The green line marks an connection between the gears. This line must connect the Input & Output.
The size difference between the Input and the Output gear define the Gear Ration. A higher Ratio means the machine will work faster, but consume more steam per operation and vice versa.
Every gear that is registered in the OreDict may be used in the Gearbox. The sizes of all gears can be configured in the Steamgears config folder.
Tools & Gadgets:
To introduce some of the gadgets:
Location Triumphator:
A tool used to store multiple block positions and export them to a machine. Necessary for the Solar Focus Prism and the Steam Dispenser.
Tank Dropper:
A useful device to scoop a fluid out from an Input Tank. Can be used to collect water from a water source too, if one has no bucket at hand.
Luft Kanone:
A simple gun, shooting nothing but steam. Useful to get some distance between oneself and whatever one is facing. Save landing not included.
Wasp Knife:
A simple weapon, which can be charged with steam to become quite lethal. Has a very limited capacity though.
Rockcrushing Steamflowdrill:
The latest of hand mining technology: Walk through rock like through air while mining in an up to 7x7 area.
Steamcharged Sheath:
Can be used to store a sword. With this sheath some fancy draw-attacks are possible.
