A pack of 3 (at the moment) Origins based on and created to resemble the gameplay styles of characters from The Binding of Isaac!
This mod also requires the Origins mod to work. Get that here.
I don't plan on updating this as much anymore, if at all. It was a fun first delve into making simple Origins but my attention is elsewhere.
If you wish to take this apart and reuse anything in it, feel free-- it's mostly data-driven, anyways.
The Miser
Embodiment of Greed
+ Post-mortem
Your dead body does not need to breathe.
+ Penny Pincher
Mobs have a small chance to drop a Gold Nugget when hit.
± Materialistic
You cannot eat normal food, and instead must consume gold and gems to sate your hunger and restore your health.
- Decaying
You do not regenerate health naturally and cannot get the Regeneration effect.
- Greedy
Villagers are very wary of your greed. You cannot be declared their hero and will be given worse deals.
The Departed
A Lost Specter
+ Post-mortem
Your dead body does not need to breathe.
+ Incorporeal
Your spectral body moves through this plane freely, although you exhaust inside blocks.
+ Eternal
You are protected from death by a single-charge shield that will replenish after some time.
- Vulnerable
Your soul is defenseless. You have only 1 point of health.
- Blighted
You are haunted by misfortune and have permanent Bad Luck.
± Ghostly Visage
You're translucent, just like a spirit.
The Savage
A Tarnished Warrior
+ Berserker
Your rage grows. When it hits its peak, you will enter a berserk state, gaining multiple strengths.
+ Sheer Strength
Your bare-handed punches deal extra damage.
- Broken Vows
Your strength is fading. When you are not berserk, all damage you deal is reduced.
- Need for Mobility
You can not wear any heavy armor (armor with protection values higher than chainmail).
- Unwieldy
You are inexperienced with a shield and do not know how to properly use one.

Reduced Eternal's cooldown again, now to 8 seconds
Eternal no longer has a cooldown after respawning or when picking the Origin
Departed now mines faster in midair
Added the Savage, based on Tainted Samson's berserker mechanics
