The Backrooms Vol. 3 is an immersive psychological horror mod based on an original idea by Soarinng, developed by Eufonia Studio, and sponsored by Kick. Designed to bring the terrifying and infinite expanse of the Backrooms directly into Minecraft, the project transports players far beyond known reality, prioritizing atmosphere, isolation, and the constant paranoia of being hunted by things that shouldn't exist.

How to Play?

To enjoy The Backrooms Vol. 3, you can choose between two available options:

• BACKROOMS VOLUME 3 MOD (CurseForge):

Download the .jar file directly from the Files tab on this page to enjoy five levels: Level 0, Poolrooms, Smiler Room, Fun Level, and Run For Your Life.

• Private Server Access (Patreon):

Support the project on our Official Patreon and get access to our official private server featuring 20+ levels and 25+ entities. Once you join, download the Official Eufonia Studio Launcher to connect directly to the server. *(A single contribution grants lifetime access to the server; continuing your monthly pledge is completely optional and helps support our infrastructure).

How to Play with Friends?

To explore the Backrooms cooperatively with your friends, follow the steps based on your game version:

BACKROOMS VOLUME 3 MOD (CurseForge)

1. All players must download and install the .jar file from CurseForge into their Minecraft client.
2. Start a world in Singleplayer mode.
3. Open the pause menu and select Open to LAN.
4. Copy your IP / LAN port and share it with your friends so they can connect.

PRIVATE SERVER ACCESS (Patreon)

⚠️ Requirement: All players who wish to join the session must have purchased the Patreon Tier.

1. Link Accounts: Join the Official Discord and link your Discord account to Patreon. (If you don't know how to do this, follow the detailed guide in our Discord Guide Channel.

2. Get the Role: Upon successfully linking your account, you will automatically receive the Explorador del M.E.G. role, granting access to exclusive channels.

3. Register on Whitelist: In the whitelist channel, run the command /whitelist followed by your exact Minecraft username (respecting upper and lower case letters). Check the step-by-step instructions in our Whitelist Guide Channel.

4. Installation: Open the Official Eufonia Studio Launcher and download the Backrooms Vol. 3 MOD instance. Clicking "Play" connects you to the Private Server with 20+ levels and 25+ entities.

5. Create a Private Game:

   Step 1: Start a world in Singleplayer mode.

   Step 2: Open the pause menu and click Open to LAN.

   Step 3: Send your IP and LAN port to your friends so they can enter your world.

Procedural Level Generation & Classic Mode

No two games will ever be the same. Levels are generated completely procedurally, ensuring every location is unique for each player and exits are never in the same place.

For those seeking a more "traditional" experience, the mod also includes a Classic Mode, where maps maintain a fixed layout.

20+ Unique Levels

Explore a massive catalog of liminal spaces; from the damp carpets of Level 0 and the white tiles of the Poolrooms, to the perpetual night of Neighborhood and the paranoia of being chased in Run For Your Life. You can access them through the Lobby, a safe area with entrances to each of the levels.

Unique Level Mechanics

Each environment features interactive puzzles and custom mechanics. Solving them will not only keep you safe but will also bring you closer to finding the exit to advance to the next level.

25+ Distinct Entities

Survival is rarely guaranteed in the Backrooms. Face or escape a varied list of entities ranging from classic Smilers and Skin Steelers to unique anomalies like the Parking Lurker, the Bone Stalker, and the lethal Death Angel.

Explorer Menu & Management (G Key)

Pressing the G Key opens an interactive in-game menu that serves as your central hub during expeditions:

• Database & Field Guide: Check detailed information on every discovered level and study survival reports for the entities inhabiting them.
• Suit Customization: Personalize and adapt the visual appearance of your hazmat suit.
• Loadout & Progress Tracker: Review your equipped items and track how many levels you have successfully completed.
• Game Mode Configuration (Host / Admin Only):

  • Procedural Mode: Generates brand-new, unique instances whenever players or teams enter a portal, guaranteeing fresh attempts each time.
  • Persistent Mode: Ignores team divisions; all players entering a portal are sent to the exact same persistent instance.
  • Autogeneration: Toggle automatic map generation on or off.
  • Team or Solo Mode: Choose between allowing player teams or enforcing individual survival.
  • Keep Inventory: Toggle whether players retain their inventory upon death.
