A turtle themed pocket dimension mod

Motivation

This mod aims to be an early~mid game pocket dimension, to provide an alternative experience to early game base building.

Progression

Back Home lets you exploit turtle architecture, so firsts thing first - lets get our hands on some turtle scute! But turtles might be a little annoying to find… (maybe they are just shy?)

On your journey to finding turtles, you might spot enemies holding pizza slices - turtles seem to like pizza, so you keep any dropped pizza slices handy

By attaching a pizza slice to a fishing rod we can easily trade the slice for some turtle scute. just cast your fishing rod into the sea, sooner or later a turtle will bump your bobber to let you know you are now a proud owner of a new turtle scute.

With a little bit of this… and a little bit of that… you bash together a Shellite Ingot!

Strapping an ender chest on a diamond chestplate, and covering all of that with a Shellite Ingot yields a Turtle Armor!

Once the armor is equipped, press the 'Enter/Exit Turtle Plot' key (by default bound to H, for home/house). This will teleport us to plot #0, anyone on the server can access this plot - so be cautious, it may become a torture chamber on some servers… on nicer servers, this can act as a hub world :D

You ask the turtles about privacy, they say that if you have a deed for turtle land, only you would be able to enter that land. You manage to convince a turtle to give you his deed by giving him a golden pizza slice.

You slot the deed into your turtle armor and enter it. you are now in your very own private plot!

You get a little lonely after a while in your own little world… so you take your deed out of the armor, print some copies of it, and hand them to your friends! (a smart player should always have a backup deed of important plots somewhere safe)

At some point you may have multiple plots, and numbers are hard to remember.. So you decide to rename your deed to something more meaningful

You notice your house is getting a little tight with all of your friends inside, so you decide to rennovate a little. You realize that this turtle shell is a tough nut to crack.. none of your tools seem to be able to break it…

You go fishing again to clear your mind, you seem to be down on your luck as you are mostly reeling in trash. as you fish a plastic bag a stroke of genius hits you. Plastic is turtle kryptonite! you rush to process the plastic and form it into a pickaxe

You were right! the plastic pickaxe broke the turtle shell wall! but as expected a plastic pickaxe doesnt last long at all and breaks after 10 blocks or so, but at least it works!

You keep farming for plastic bags, while helping the environment is cool and all, the monotony of the grind takes a toll on you.. in a moment of desparity you attach a bundle to your fishing rod and toss the whole thing into the ocean, suprisingly after reeling the bundle in, you are met with quite the haul, one might say it is exactly x9 more efficient than standard fishing!

… And with that, this story comes to an end, but fear not - as this is only the beginning of your own story. go out there, with your turtle armor on your back, and break everything! the world is your oyster. 👋
