Auto-Smelting by Sephamm
Tired of babysitting rows of furnaces? Auto-Smelting by Sephamm adds a single block that smelts, blasts, and smokes eight stacks at once — fast, fair, and fully automatable.
Features
- 8 independent input/output slot pairs — feed it eight different smeltable items at once, each cooking and finishing independently.
- 1 shared fuel slot — one fuel source powers every active slot.
- 8x cook speed — every slot cooks 8 times faster than a vanilla furnace.
- 2x fuel consumption — fuel burns twice as fast per active slot, so the speed boost comes at a real (but worthwhile) cost: a net 4x more items per unit of fuel compared to lining up four vanilla furnaces.
- Every vanilla cooking recipe supported — not just ores. Smelting, blasting, and smoking recipes (food, ores, stone, and more) all work.
- Feels like a real furnace — glows and lights up the room while running, puffs smoke particles, and crackles with the classic furnace sound.
- Redstone comparator support — read the machine's contents like any vanilla container.
- Experience on collection — XP accumulates as items finish smelting and is awarded to you when you close the interface, just like a vanilla furnace.
- Aligned, easy-to-read HUD — eight clearly separated progress bars, one per slot.
/autosmelting speed <1-16>— server operators can tune a placed machine's cook speed between 1x and 16x (fuel consumption always stays fixed at 2x, regardless of speed).- Available for Forge, NeoForge, and Fabric — same features, same balance, on every loader.
- Localized in English and Brazilian Portuguese.
Balance Philosophy
The core 8x speed / 2x fuel ratio is fixed and can't be lowered below the intended baseline — it's tuned to feel like a genuine upgrade over vanilla furnaces without trivializing fuel management. The /autosmelting speed command exists for server operators who want to fine-tune individual machines beyond the baseline, not to bypass the fuel-cost balance.
Compatibility
Fuel values are read straight from each loader's official fuel API, so modded fuels (coal blocks, mod-added high-tier fuels, etc.) work automatically — no extra configuration needed.
Supported Versions
Minecraft 1.21.1 — Forge, NeoForge, and Fabric editions.
