Description
Auto Crit
Every full-strength hit is a critical hit - no jumping no timing. You stay on the ground and still get 1.5x damage, the crit particles and the crit sound on every hit.
Features
- Crits without jumping - standing still, walking, strafing or sprinting.
- Works while sprinting - vanilla never gives a critical hit while you sprint. Auto Crit handles that for the one hit and your sprint continues right after.
- On by default, toggle with J (rebindable in Controls -> Toggle Auto Crit). "Auto Crit ON / OFF" is shown above the hotbar.
- Settings in
config/autocrit.json, re-read every time you press J. - 26.3 safe - Minecraft 26.3 servers kick a client that sends more than one position packet per tick, which is exactly what classic "packet criticals" do. Auto Crit sends a single tiny movement packet and on 26.3 it replaces that tick's own movement packet, so you are not kicked.
- Client-side only - nothing to install on the server.
Settings (config/autocrit.json)
| Setting | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
enabledOnStartup |
true |
Auto Crit is on when the game starts; J switches it off and on. |
stopSprintForCrit |
true |
1.21.8+ only. For that one hit the server is told you stopped sprinting, so the hit can crit; your sprint continues right after. You lose the sprint knockback bonus on that hit. false = no crits while sprinting. |
playersOnly |
false |
Only make hits on players critical. |
showToggleMessage |
true |
Show "Auto Crit ON/OFF" above the hotbar. |

How it works
A vanilla server makes a hit critical when, at the moment the attack arrives, you are in the air with a fall distance above zero, not sprinting, not climbing, not in water and not riding (1.9+: and the attack is fully charged). Right before each attack Auto Crit sends one movement packet that puts you 0.000001 blocks lower and in the air, so the server counts a tiny fall and the hit that follows is critical. The offset is far below anything the server corrects, and your next normal movement packet puts everything back. Hits that could not be critical anyway (attack not charged, in water, on a ladder, riding, flying) or already are (falling) are left alone.
Tested
Every file was tested in a real Minecraft client joined to a vanilla server of the same version, on every supported version and loader (38 combinations): critical hit standing still, normal hit after pressing J, critical hit while walking and while sprinting, no kick and no movement warnings on the server.
Note
Auto Crit is a cheat on multiplayer servers. Use it where it is allowed - servers with an anti-cheat can detect it and may ban you.
