Auto Clutch

Choose your clutch items and their priority. Auto Clutch attempts to use an available item as you fall, so you do not have to select and place it manually.

Set it up

Choose the file for both your Minecraft version and mod loader. Install only one Auto Clutch JAR in a profile.

• Fabric: install Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer and Fabric API for your Minecraft version, then add the matching Auto Clutch JAR.
• NeoForge: install NeoForge 21.1.251 or newer in the 21.1 series for Minecraft 1.21.1, or NeoForge 26.3.0.16-beta or newer in the 26.3 series for Minecraft 26.3. Add the matching auto-clutch-neoforge JAR. Fabric API is not needed. The 26.3 NeoForge loader is currently a beta.

Launch the matching loader profile and press K to open the settings. Minecraft 1.21.1 uses Java 21; Minecraft 26.3 uses Java 25.

Click an item to enable or disable it. Use the up and down arrows to change its priority. J toggles automatic clutches. Key bindings can be changed in Minecraft's Controls menu.

Settings are saved immediately. English and Korean are supported. Automatic clutches and full-inventory access are enabled by default; you can restrict item selection to the hotbar and offhand.

Items

• Water bucket: skipped where water evaporates.
• Powder snow bucket: skipped while wearing leather boots.
• Slime block: skipped while sneaking.
• Cobweb: slows the fall; you may remain stuck afterwards.
• Sweet berries: requires soil that supports a berry bush.
• Hay bale and beds: reduce damage but do not eliminate it; disabled by default.

How it works

Auto Clutch predicts a nearby landing point and uses ordinary inventory and item interactions. Items in the main inventory can be swapped into a hotbar slot temporarily, then swapped back. It does not modify health, velocity, or fall distance, and it does not automatically collect placed water or blocks.

The server does not need to install the mod. Server rules and placement validation still apply.

Limitations

Clutches require a reachable, visible full-block top surface with empty space above it. Slabs, stairs, walls, and void falls are not supported. Very fast falls, sudden turns, latency, and server restrictions can cause failures. Boats, ender pearls, wind charges, ladders, and vines are not included in this release.

Both supported versions were tested in Fabric and NeoForge development clients with integrated servers, including eleven gameplay scenarios per version and loader. These tests do not guarantee survival under every condition or compatibility with every server.
