Aussie Mod 1.0.2 Update

This update expands exploration, cooking, foraging, building, and world generation with new biomes, plants, blocks, advancements, and gameplay systems.

New Features

New Biomes

Stringy Bark Forest

A new forest biome featuring Stringy Bark trees and unique vegetation.

Open Plains

A new open grassland biome.

Clay Flats

A new biome inspired by the lunettes of inland Australia.

New Plants

Banksia

Banksia plants can now be found throughout the world.

  • Drops Banksia Flowers and Banksia Saplings
  • Banksia Flowers can be crafted into Orange Dye

Saltbush

A hardy desert shrub found in Clay Flats.

  • Drops Saltbush Leaves
  • Leaves can be eaten as an emergency food source

Organ Flower

A strange plant that likely shouldn’t be there.

  • Emits dark particles at random whilst idle.
  • Whatever you do, destroy these.
  • Upon dying from the Vine illness, an Organ Flower will grow at the player's death location.

Corpse Flower

A smaller variant of the Organ Flower, does not harm the player on contact.

  • Emits dark particles at random whilst idle.
  • Whatever you do, destroy these.
  • If you can survive the Vine illness, only a corpse flower will sprout.

Kangaroo Grass

Our first plant to have a fully custom model.

  • Can be grown and harvested for its seeds.
  • Can only be grown on red sand, windswept red sand, grass, dirt, coarse dirt, rooted dirt, and podzol.

Foraging Tree (Beta)

The first version of the Foraging Tree has been added.

Progress through the tree by discovering and foraging plants to unlock unique items, mechanics, and rewards.

  • Can be placed above Campfires and Tuff Spouts

Impact Grenade

A throwable explosive that detonates upon impact with a block.

Opal Ring

Held in the off hand to provide a boost to your mining speed.

Grants +0.4 mining speed when held in off hand.

Hobby Horse

Held in the off hand to grant a speed and jump boost.

Grants +30% Speed and +0.2 Jump Strength.

Croc Tooth Amulet

When in the off hand it will grant the player armour and swim speed.

Grants 50% swim speed and +8 armour points.

Shark Tooth Amulet

When in off hand the player gains oxygen bonus and submerged mining speed.

Grants +0.5 oxygen bonus and +0.3 submerged mining speed.

The Dawndancer’s Relic

An ancient helmet-like relic that imbues its wearer with extraordinary power.

When held in the off hand, grants:

  • +4 Attack Damage
  • +0.3 Attack Speed
  • +4 Armour
  • +2 Entity Interaction Range
  • +20% Knockback Resistance
  • +40% Movement Speed
  • +1 Luck
  • +0.3 Jump Strength
  • +3 Safe Fall Distance

Tier 1 Backpack

A cheap and spacious way to carry extra items. Right click to open its inventory.

Wombat Fur Hat

A cute fur hat that provides a little bit of armour and high style points.

New Effects

Vine

A horrid disease that literally eats the player. Deals damage over time.

World Generation

Tuff Spouts

Tuff Spouts now require a lava source block within 7 blocks beneath them to function.

Cooking

  • Several vanilla cooking recipes have been adjusted to better integrate with Aussie Mod's progression system.
  • Damper can be cooked on a pan.

Advancements

The advancement tree has been reorganised to improve progression flow and consistency.

Naming Changes

The following blocks have been renamed:

  • Double Sided Painted Gum Planks → Double Sided Painted Wooden Planks
  • Corner Double Sided Painted Gum Planks → Corner Double Sided Painted Wooden Planks
  • Ridge Clay → Claystone
  • Rocky Ridge Clay → Claystone Pebbles

Mob Changes

Wombat

The Wombat has received:

  • A new model
  • A complete texture overhaul
  • Updated related items and decorative blocks

Blowflies

Blowflies no longer spawn in rain or water.

Item Changes

Bushwalker Armour

  • Each armour piece now grants +0.1 sneak speed, up to a maximum of +0.4.

Sulfur

  • Sulfur Blocks now emit particles while underwater.
  • Sulfur Blocks now require a Magma Block beneath them in order to emit particles.
  • Sulfur can no longer float and will break if placed without solid support.
  • Sulfur Crystals are now obtained from Sulfur Clusters and are used in all Sulfur-related recipes that once used Sulfur Clusters.

Iron Pick

New model and texture to better represent the new pick design.

Most of the old music has been removed.

Bug Fixes

Blocks

  • Fixed Double Sided Painted Wooden Planks using incorrect particle textures.
  • Reduced the number of particles produced by Smouldering Charcoal.
  • Most block particles now spawn in their intended positions.
  • Fixed Sulfur Crystal rotation.
  • Sulfur Dust can now be crafted.
  • Stringy Bark Logs can now be stripped in the Stonecutter.
  • Paper Bark Logs can now be stripped in the Stonecutter.

Tuff Spouts

  • Reduced particle output.
  • Steam particles now correctly move upwards.
  • Tuff Spouts no longer drop Ancient Skulls when right-clicked.

Farming & Plants

  • Fertiliser particles now spawn correctly.
  • Fertilised plants now spawn harvested items from the centre of the block.

Crafting

  • The Detonator recipe is now available in the Crafting Table.
  • Crafting Milky Potch Dust now yields two items instead of one.
  • Crafting slabs in the stonecutter now grants 2 blocks instead of 1.

Advancements

  • Fiery Depths is now included in As Far As The Eye Can See.
  • Fixed several advancement ordering and progression issues.

Mobs

  • Reduced Emu animation amplitude for smoother movement.
  • Wombats can no longer spawn within 60 blocks of another Wombat.

Miscellaneous

  • Corrected all remaining instances of "Sulfer" to "Sulfur".
  • Updated the Wombat Plushie to reflect the new Wombat model.



Notes

  • Oil and bitumen are not yet obtainable.
  • Several mob drops are also not obtainable due to their addition being in preparation for future updates.
