Atumcards - A Compatible Betweencards Idea Expansion

Have you ever looked at Atum 2 and thought that it would make a fun card game? Do you like Betweencards and wish its mechanics were applied to another mod? Either way, this mod is for you. Craft packs, draw cards, and duel with a new game mode as well.

I make no claim of ownership for either Atum 2 or Bewteencards. I had no hand in their production and do not know either creator. I am simply a fan of both who wanted to see the idea expanded. I beg forgiveness from both creators if this is infringement and will take this down the moment it is requested if that is what you wish. I took large portions of the description of this mod from the description of betweencards because I do not believe I could describe the game better than its inventor.

This is an early alpha and most of the textures are still incomplete, so expect many future updates. As well, the balancing is certainly unstable at the moment until playtesting perfects it. Also, I have had a minor issue with these spoiler tabs, if I cannot fix it, I will just remove them so everything is readable

Description

Atumcards is, as the full mod title suggests, a custom card game built for the mod Atum 2: Return to the Sands by Shadow, Girafi, and the rest of the Metallurgy team. It is based on the Betweencards mod made by Tip_Mischiff.

Like with its aforementioned inspiration, Atumcards adds cards for each mob in the Atum as well as two card tables for PVP duels with rules and strategies.

Create card packs by crafting them with various materials from Atum 2, then right-click with them to receive 3 random cards from that card set

You can then create a deck with your cards and craft some marker tokens to battle other players (Tokens are WIP)

Cards have abilities based on the Atum 2 godshards, each changing how that card plays

You can choose to attack twice on a turn for massive damage, or play defensively by attacking once, then using your cards to protect each other.

Different cards can be better at attacking or defending, and different aspects can have interesting synergies with each other. Try out new cards and decks often to become the strongest card master

In the base playstyle, both players battle until one has had all their cards killed; the surviving player wins!

In the playstyle original to this mod, Battlefield, both players choose one boss card and 2 miniboss cards for free, then fill the rest of their deck the same as usual up to a maximum cost of 192, or 3 stacks of 64, except bosses have their cost doubled. Draw 6 cards and play until you have 5 on the field each turn. The first player to either have no cards remaining in their deck or hand other than bosses or minibosses, or have the boss they got for free killed, loses, and the other player wins.

Hover over cards with your mouse to see a description of their health and attack as well as their blessing or lack thereof.

A full list of the original playstyle's rules is written below. It can be a bit much at first, but after a duel or two, it becomes second nature. For the Battlefield playstyle, simply slot in the rule changes where they fit.

How To Play Creating a Deck: You start with 64 points to make your deck When you add a card, combine its health and attack, then subtract that from your points You can add cards until you run out of points. You do not need to use all your points An easy way to keep track of points is to have a stack of a random item, then remove items each time you add a card equal to its point cost Setup: Each player brings their own health, defending, and defended tokens, and a deck Each player opens the card table and: Chooses a side of the board to be their side Places all their cards unstacked in the deck section of the table Draw 4 cards by clicking the draw button and play 3 of them in the middle slots of the play area Stack health tokens in the health slots next to each of the cards in play equal to those cards' health (the right number) Choose which player goes first Player Turn: On your turn, do the following in order Draw cards until you have 4 cards in your hand Play cards from your hand until you have 3 cards in play, replacing any cards that have died Attack with cards in play twice OR attack once and defend a card with another Attacking and defending: To attack, choose one of your cards and one of your opponent's cards and subtract the attack of your card (the left number) from your opponent's card's health tokens If a card's health reaches 0, it dies; remove it and its health tokens from the table and place them into your inventory You may do both of your attacks with the same card To defend, choose one of your cards to be the defender, and the other to be the defended Place the defender and defended tokens next to the cards in the defense slots to mark this Add health tokens to the defended card equal to the defending card's attack Defending cards cannot attack until the defense ends During your turn, you may stop the defense or change what cards are defending. This counts as defending on that turn If either card dies, the defense ends and the remaining card returns to normal When a card stops being defended, remove the extra health from the defense If this leaves the card with less than 0 health, it dies You win when you have defeated all of your opponent's cards Blessings: Blessings are abilities every card has, indicated by the symbol on the card Some blessings make exceptions to the rules, and some have downsides The rules for the various blessings are not included in the description of the corresponding cards, only written below, so you may need to take notes or memorize. List of Blessings:
Blessing of Ra When this card is destroyed, once per turn if your deck currently contains no cards with the blessing of ra, return this card to your deck. Blessing of Osiris When this card would be destroyed, you may sacrifice a card on your field instead. Blessing of Anput When another card is destroyed, return a different card without the Blessing of Anput to the deck. Blessing of Anubis When a card is returned to the deck, this card gains attack equal to the attack of the returned card. Blessing of Atem When this card is attacked, you may remove one card in your deck, this card then gains hp equal to that card's cost. Blessing of Geb When this card is attacked, it takes 1 less damage and the attacker takes 1 damage. Blessing of Horus When this card attacks a defended card, the defender card is attacked too. Blessing of Isis A card defended by this card gains 1 HP at the start of turn. Blessing of Montu If this card is destroyed, the card which destroyed it is also destroyed Blessing of Nepthys When one of your cards is destroyed, this card gains HP and attack equivalent to the base hp and attack of the destroyed card. Blessing of Nuit When this card is defending a card, the first attack made on both this card and the defended card deals no damage Blessing of Ptah When you play this card, take 2 hp tokens from all of your opponent’s cards (to a minimum hp of 1) and place them on your cards. Blessing of Seth When another card defends this card, destroy that card, this card gains attack equal to the attack of the destroyed card Blessing of Shu If an attack is declared, you can reduce this card's hp by 2, that attack deals no damage. Blessing of Tefnut If a card defends another, you can reduce this card's hp by 2, reduce the hp of the defender and the defended by 2.

Every mob in Atum 2 has its own card, with one exception. In the 1.12.2 version of Atum 2, there is a tarantula mob, but in the 1.16.5 version, the tarantula is replaced with the quail. I based the cards off the 1.16.5 version; hence, there is no tarantula card
