Atlas Minimap

A high-quality Minecraft minimap built for fair multiplayer gameplay. No player radar, no cave radar, no unfair advantages. Just a minimap, as it should be.

alt text Atlas Minimap is a client-side Fabric mod for navigating Minecraft's surface. Keep your bearings while exploring, save places worth returning to, and open a larger map when you need to plan your next journey.

It combines detailed terrain, a customizable HUD, and persistent waypoints.

A Minimap for the Way You Play

Whether you enjoy survival, creative building, exploration, or multiplayer adventures, Atlas Minimap helps you navigate, remember important places, and stay focused on the way you like to play.

Atlas is especially well suited to servers that allow surface minimaps but prohibit player radar, entity tracking, or cave maps. These features are entirely absent from the mod, making it a natural fit for communities that value fair exploration and navigation. Always check your server's specific rules before using any minimap.

A recognizable map of your world

Terrain is drawn from actual block models, textures, and biome colors available to the client. Forests, rivers, coastlines, paths, crops, and player-built structures become recognizable landmarks on the map. Height-based shading helps distinguish hills, valleys, and changes in elevation.

The minimap and expanded map share the same terrain data and a consistent, directly overhead view. Zoom in to inspect the available detail or zoom out for a wider view of your surroundings.

Make the minimap your own

Open Settings from the map's gear button to customize the HUD. Changes apply live, with a preview and automatic saving.

  • Shape and appearance: square or round, adjustable size, overall scale, transparency, border thickness, border color, shadows, and accent color.
  • Position: choose a screen corner and margin, or drag the minimap into a custom position. Resize it directly using the HUD placement editor.
  • Orientation: keep north at the top or let the minimap rotate with your heading. Adjust the terrain zoom separately from the minimap's size.
  • Indicators: customize the visibility, size, and color of the player arrow and compass, plus the scale of waypoint markers.
  • Information: choose whether to show coordinates, altitude, biome, and your selected destination. Adjust text size, color, and placement above or below the map. Text uses a shadow.
  • Map and performance: configure the expanded map's zoom and grid, terrain sampling, update rate, and cache limit.

Color controls include RGB sliders, HEX input, and a palette. You can also hide the minimap while keeping access to the expanded map.

Waypoints and destinations

Save your base, a village or any other location you want to remember. Each waypoint has a name, coordinates, dimension, color, icon, and visibility setting.

Select a waypoint as your destination to highlight it and display its name, distance in blocks, and a directional arrow below the minimap. On the expanded map, clicking the selected waypoint again clears the destination.
