astronomy-Beta-0.2.0-neoforge-1.21.1.jar
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Astronomy - Next beta
Version: 0.2 | Minecraft 1.21.1 | NeoForge
What's new
- Astronomy Notebook (key N): records the stars and constellations you have discovered, with observation progress. A constellation is only complete when all its stars have been discovered.
- Skill Tree (key K): three branches (Astronomy, Instrumentation and Scientific Research) and research points you earn by studying the sky.
- Per-object research: each observation reveals a new piece of information (magnitude, distance, spectral class, temperature), gradually. The Sun and the Moon also have notebook entries.
- Telescope levels: the level belongs to the telescope type and sets how far research can go (today only the basic telescope exists).
- Per-player data: discoveries, research, skills and preferences are individual and are not lost on death.
- Redesigned telescope screens: azimuth compass, altitude ruler and information panel aligned, with no overflowing text. New texts in Portuguese and English.
- Rain and storm screens with a new look (animated rain, water drops on the lens and colors that follow the time of day).
- The telescope screen closes by itself if you move more than 8 blocks away.
Fixes
- The telescope position is now that of the block you opened.
- Hemisphere and latitude no longer depend on translated text.
- The information panel button is now per player (before, it applied to every player).
- Discoveries are no longer lost on death, and data from the previous version is converted automatically.
- The server validates discoveries, telescope position and client actions.
- Looking at the Sun without a filter only causes blindness on a valid observation, no longer on every click.
Good to know
- This is a beta. Some parts were tested only outside the game and still await full testing.
- Worlds from the previous version keep working: discoveries are preserved.
- Not yet tested on a dedicated server. Multiplayer was tested on LAN.
- Today only the basic telescope exists: with it you study magnitude. The skills that unlock distance, spectral class and temperature will matter once better telescopes exist (planned).
- Moon data (besides the phase) and Sun distance show as "Not implemented yet". Star values do not have verified sources yet.
- Found a problem? Report it on the project page with the mod, Minecraft and NeoForge versions.
Planned
New telescopes, more astronomical objects (planets, comets...), more scientific data with verified sources and the skills marked as "reserved" in the tree.
