What's new

Innovations

  • New ore. A new resource has been added — lead, together with dust and plates. The ore is either regular or deep slate, generated in veins roughly 6 blocks long at heights from 52 to -64, with the best height for searching being -58. Currently, it is not used (but will be used for nuclear reactor components).

  • Oil has been added. It generates in lakes at heights from -16 to 32, with a spawn chance of 1 in 18 per chunk. Currently, it is not used (but will be necessary in the future for producing 4 other liquids).

  • Added fuel oils: heavy oil (mazut), diesel, gasoline, and propane. They, along with oil, do not burn and are currently just regular liquids without specific properties. They have no practical use at the moment.

  • Two new devices have been added: an electric furnace and a mechanical sinterer. The electric furnace works for 10 seconds, consumes 20 FE/t, has an energy capacity of 10,000 FE, and recipes similar to a regular furnace. Crafted from the basic frame, redstone, iron plates, and glass. The mechanical sinterer is used for producing alloys (currently only steel). Its main feature is steel production; it can also combine cobblestone or stone bricks with ferns, grass, or vines to produce mossy versions of blocks. Additionally, it can combine 2 quartz with diorite to produce 2 granite, diorite with cobblestone to get 2 Andesite, and 2 quartz with cobblestone to produce diorite. Diorite, granite, and andesite can be crushed in a crusher into quartz with a secondary product — cobblestone with varying probabilities. The base goes into the right slot, the addition into the left. Crafted from the basic frame, redstone, iron plates, and copper ingots. Both devices support upgrades: "Speed" and "Energy".

  • Steel has been added. It includes dust, ingot, and plate. 1 dust is made in the mechanical furnace by combining one iron ingot and two coal dusts.

  • Coal dust has been added. It can be obtained by crushing coal ore, coal, or a coal block, yielding 2, 1, and 9 dusts respectively.

Changes and Fixes

  • The mechanics of obtaining rubber have been simplified. Now, once 1000 mB of latex is gathered in a bowl, 4 latex disks will appear immediately, and the latex will disappear. The latex disks melt into rubber instantly. "Rubber" and "Refined Rubber" are renamed to "Synthetic Rubber" and "Refined Synthetic Rubber" respectively — they are not used yet but will be in the future.

  • Textures of curcuit and battery have been changed.

  • Fixed rendering error of the energy bar of the crusher in JEI.

  • New recipes for the crusher: Plates can now be crushed into dust. The processing of stones has been added. Polished versions of diorite, granite, and andesite, as well as stairs, walls, and slabs, can be crushed into regular versions. Stone to cobblestone, smooth stone to regular stone. Slight modifications to item tooltips, such as changing the letter case in some labels.

Major Mod Change — No More Gears!(

I am abandoning gears for several reasons:

  1. Extra Resources I don't want players to forget chests full of materials needed only for crafting (gears fall into this category). Assembly Expansion is conceived as a mod without grind and without tons of unnecessary items, but with moderately challenging resources. The mod already has plates, which I find sufficient.
  2. Textures Gears are complex objects, and their textures are hard to draw. I've tried many options and settled on the current one, although I’m not entirely satisfied with it.

However, if you liked the gears, there will be a poll in the #main section of my Discord channel to decide their fate. The changelog for one of the upcoming versions will include a brief description of the gears. For now, they have simply been removed from Creative Mode, though they can still be crafted and used via other mods.

Technical Changes

  • The generator and crusher work have been optimized.
  • Registration of liquids has been changed — specifically, latex can now be represented by the FluidObject class, which contains basic properties and parameters, instead of creating 4 separate fluid objects.
