Trim Compatibility 1.19.2
Bringing vanilla Armor Trims to non-vanilla armor models.
Overview
Since 1.20, Minecraft's Armor Trim system only applies its overlay textures to armor pieces using the vanilla armor model. Any mod that ships its own custom armor geometry — chestplates with pauldrons, layered pieces, custom silhouettes — simply can't display trims, even if the armor itself is fully compatible in every other way.
Trim Compatibility fixes this by adding proper trim overlay support to armor from mods that use non-vanilla armor models, so your custom armor sets can be decorated with all the vanilla trim patterns and materials just like a diamond chestplate.
Supported Mods
- Epic Knights (by magistu_) — all base armor sets and compatible addons
- RPG Series (by daedelus_dev) — including Rogues & Warriors, Paladins & Priests, Death Knights, Arsenal, and Armory
(More mods may be added in future updates — suggestions and compatibility requests are welcome!)
Features
- Adds trim overlay support to non-vanilla armor models from the mods listed above
- Trims apply and render using the standard vanilla trim patterns and materials — no new items or recipes needed
- Purely additive: does not modify base armor stats, textures, or behavior
- Lightweight, client-side friendly rendering layer
Requirements
- Minecraft: 1.19.2
- Mod Loader: Fabric Loader 0.16.0, 0.16.5, or newer
- Fabric API (required)
- The relevant supported mod(s) — Epic Knights and/or RPG Series — must be installed for their armor to receive trim support
Installation
- Install Fabric Loader 0.16.0+ for Minecraft 1.19.2
- Install Fabric API
- Install Epic Knights and/or the RPG Series mods you want trim support for
- Drop Trim Compatibility into your
modsfolder - Launch and enjoy trimmed armor!
Notes
This is a compatibility/addon mod — it requires the target mods to be installed and does not add any armor of its own. Please report any armor pieces that don't render trims correctly via the Issues page.
