ArcTools

A set of useful tools for ArcLib.

ArcTools

Inspect ArcLib interfaces, browse UI resources, and run JavaScript directly in Minecraft.

ArcTools is a client-side toolkit for mod developers, modpack authors, and testers working with ArcLib. It brings an interactive UI inspector, a visual resource browser, and a Rhino JavaScript console into the game, so you can explore interfaces and try changes while they are running.

Features

Interactive UI inspector

Select an ArcLib UI element on screen and explore its hierarchy, properties, and layout.

  • Browse and search the element tree.
  • Highlight element bounds and pin an element for closer inspection.
  • Inspect and edit element properties and table cell layout values.
  • Explore Java objects, fields, methods, and constructors.
  • Invoke methods, watch values, and copy object references for use in scripts.

The inspector works with ArcLib scene elements, including interfaces created by other mods using ArcLib.

Visual UI resource browser

Open UI List to find and preview the resources available to your ArcLib interface:

  • Icon / Tex: icons, drawables, and texture atlas regions.
  • Styles: widget styles with live previews.
  • Colors: named colors with visual swatches.
  • Interp: interpolation curves with animated previews.
  • Actions: configurable UI action previews.

Search by name or type, and copy resource names to use in your own code or scripts.

JavaScript Tester

Open Tester to experiment with ArcLib through a built-in Rhino JavaScript editor.

  • Write scripts with line numbers, syntax highlighting, and optional completion.
  • View results, captured Arc logs, object details, and supported texture previews.
  • Reuse previous scripts through searchable history and bookmarks.
  • Import and export scripts.
  • Run startup scripts and configure bookmarks for timed or event-driven execution.
  • Use execution time limits, manual stop, loop mode, and background execution.

Tester windows, startup scripts, and scheduled bookmarks share ArcLib's default script environment. Variables and functions remain available across these tools during the session.

Requirements and supported versions

ArcLib 1.0.0 or newer is required. Choose ArcTools and ArcLib files for the same Minecraft version and mod loader.

Minecraft Mod loaders Minimum Java version
1.20.1 Fabric, Forge 17
1.21.1 Fabric, NeoForge 21
1.21.11 Fabric, NeoForge 21
26.2 Fabric, NeoForge 25

ArcTools provides client-side tools; installing it on a dedicated server is unnecessary.

Getting started

  1. Install the appropriate mod loader for your Minecraft version.
  2. Place the matching ArcLib and ArcTools JAR files in your instance's mods folder.
  3. Launch Minecraft and open an interface that uses ArcLib.
  4. Use the Arc Tools panel in the upper-right corner to open Inspect, UI List, or Tester. You can drag the panel by its header or collapse it with the - button.

To inspect an element, click Inspect or press Ctrl + Shift + C, then click the element you want to explore. Press Esc to cancel selection.
