v0.9.0 — Beyond the Vessel

You destroyed the form.

This update marks the completion of the core vision of the mod.
The Abyss is no longer a concept — it is a system, a progression, and a choice.


Major Features

New final boss:

  • A two-phase endgame boss representing a broken will beyond conventional existence.

  • Phase 1 introduces unstable sigil-based combat.

  • Phase 2 fully abandons traditional rules of damage, survival, and logic.

  • Unique victory condition: the boss cannot truly be ended by conventional means — only severance can bring closure.


Fracture Anchor Structure

  • A new world-generated structure acting as the gateway to the encounter.

  • Built from materials symbolizing proximity to nothingness (sculk, obsidian, bedrock, end-like matter).


Abyss Poem Interface

  • Upon defeating the boss, nearby players are forced into the “Poem of the Abyss”.

  • A short dialogue between

    A question.


New Relic: Echo of the Abyss

  • Granted after the encounter.

  • Unlocks access to Abyssal sigils and long-term corruption mechanics.

  • Serves as the foundation for future content.


Abyssal Corruption (AC) System

A persistent progression system representing the awakening of the Abyss within the player.

  • AC cannot be reduced.

  • Not a disease — a transformation.

  • Corruption alters:

    • some sigil behavior.

    • Player status effects.

    • Environmental interactions.

    • Visual perception (custom overlay at later stages).

Stage Effects

  • Gradual escalation from subtle distortion to severe instability.

  • High corruption introduces:

    • Permanent darkness.

    • Random spatial displacement.

    • Severe restrictions on armor usage.

  • Late stages grant immense power… at a devastating cost.


New Abyss Sigils

Abyss Sigil of Domain (Core)

A reality-warping sigil that creates a localized “domain”.

  • Burst Form:
    Repels or distorts entities around the caster, breaking spatial logic.

  • Drain Form:
    Pulls entities inward, draining mana and life within the domain.

  • Domain duration scales with modifiers.

  • Increases Abyssal Corruption on use.


Abyss Sigil of Idol (Core)

Transforms the caster into a false god in the eyes of the world.

  • Forces hostile entities to target the caster.

  • Applies debuffs to enemies within range.

  • The higher the corruption, the stronger the effect — and the harsher the backlash.

  • Increases Abyssal Corruption on use.


Abyss Sigil of Wound (Core)

Inflicts reality-level lacerations that persist beyond the initial strike.

  • Applies Wound damage over time.

  • Targets bleed every 20 ticks until the wound timer expires.

  • Echo modifier extends the duration.

  • Burst Form: High-intensity bleeding.

  • Drain Form: Lower damage, prolonged suffering.


Sigil System Expansion

  • All sigils follow the core law:
    Core + Form = Spell
    Without both, no magic occurs.

  • Supported Forms:

    • Burst — Area, instability, rupture.

    • Drain — Sustained effects, extraction, decay.

  • Supported Modifiers:

    • Echo — Duration amplification.

    • Fracture — Reality distortion.

    • Decay — Progressive degradation.

  • Abyss sigils grow in power with increasing corruption.


Visual & Immersion

  • Custom Abyss overlay activated at higher corruption stages.

  • Sculk-like particle manifestations around corrupted players.

  • UI feedback for forbidden equipment and reality rejection.
