Arcane Dice

The fates decide: cast real 3D dice upon an arcane altar, from d2 to d1000, and let the verdict fall into everyone's chat.

Arcane Dice

An arcane altar for rolling real 3D dice in Minecraft. Not a chat command that prints a number,
but a real polyhedron that is thrown, tumbles through the air, bounces and settles on a face.

Press I to open it, pick a die and cast.

WHAT IT DOES

Every die is a real solid: a tetrahedron for the d4, a cube for the d6, an icosahedron for the
d20, and so on. You can roll anything from d2 to d1000, with seven presets one click away.

The throw is physical. The die spins, bounces and settles already showing the result. A maximum
roll lights the altar gold, a natural 1 turns it red.

VERSIONS

One file per Minecraft version, and each one works on Forge, NeoForge and Fabric.

1.20.1: arcanedice-universal-1.20.1-1.0.0.jar
1.21.1: arcanedice-universal-1.21.1-1.0.0.jar

On Fabric you also need Fabric API. On Forge and NeoForge, nothing else.

WHAT THE SERVER DOES

The server rolls, not the client, so a modified client cannot force a natural 20. It also clamps
the number of faces and keeps a cooldown of 2.5 seconds per player.

The verdict is announced to everyone, timed to land in chat exactly as the die stops rolling.
Players without the mod read the message normally.

If the server does not have the mod, the altar rolls locally and tells you so. Nothing is
announced, and you can still join vanilla servers.

It registers no blocks, items or entities, and uses no mixins.
