Isn’t there really no genuinely cheap and useful defense method in the early game? No—there is!

Add a solving mechanism to AE2’s CPU. By binding through this mod’s Universal Defense Terminal, the damage the player takes can be uploaded to the CPU’s solving pool.

But don’t say I didn’t warn you: if it isn’t solved within eight seconds, half of the damage will be settled on you, and then the solving will continue.

Eight seconds is really too harsh. Isn’t there anything that can upgrade it?
