grandsigil-1.21.1-neoforge-1.5.1.jar
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
1.5.1 — The Old Look, Back as an Option
1.5.0 redrew the eight spells Apex Arcana started with. If you liked them better the way they were, you can now have them back, for yourself or for everyone on a server. Nothing about what the spells do changes either way: same damage, same timings, same costs.
Classic effects
There are two switches. Either one is enough.
- For yourself: set
classicEffects = trueunder[visuals]inconfig/grandsigil-client.toml. It takes effect as soon as you save the file, with no restart. - For everyone in a world: run
/gamerule grandsigilClassicEffects true. Every player switches over at once, and anyone who joins later sees it too. It is also under Miscellaneous in the game rules screen when you create a world.
With either one on, these eight are drawn exactly as they were in 1.4.0:
- Grand Sigil
- Sunfall
- Skybreak
- World Tree
- Gates of Heaven
- The Gaze
- Grip of the Void
- The Colosseum
That brings back the sigil's ring towers, the pixel eye and the Colosseum's arches. These are the 1.4.0 renderers themselves, restored, not a re-creation of them.
- Particles: the old particles come back too, namely The Colosseum's grey dust and floor rings and The Gaze's sculk souls. In single player they follow your config file. On a server they follow the gamerule.
- Shader packs: under a pack the classic look behaves as it did in 1.4.0, using the simpler stand-ins it had for packs. It does not get 1.5.0's drawing after the pack.
- The other ten spells: the spells added after the original eight have only one look and are not affected.
Technical
- Adds one small server-to-client message that carries the gamerule. It is sent when a player joins and whenever the rule changes.
Updating
Drop the new jar in and delete the old one. No registry names or saved data changed. The
client config gains one key, classicEffects, which is off by default.
