AP Gaming Mod
**Suppression Block** adds a single NON-craftable placeable block aimed at modpacks and servers that use **superhero / ability** mods. It does not add generic magic items or new dimensions; it changes how **players experience combat and bases** by letting you define **zones where powers are turned off** until players leave the area.

### What you get

- **Suppression Block** — A metal-style block (needs the correct tool to harvest, similar hardness to iron-tier expectations). It appears in the **Functional Blocks** and **Redstone** creative tabs so builders can find it quickly.
- **Area denial for powers** — While a player is within **64 blocks** (Euclidean distance) of an active Suppression Block that applies to them, the mod applies a **server-side suppression state** on a fixed tick interval (every **20 ticks**, about once per second). That keeps the effect responsive without scanning the world every tick.

### How it changes the player experience

When you enter a zone that suppresses you:

- You see an on-screen message: **“You feel your power being suppressed.”**
- The mod drives compatibility with common power frameworks by:
- Applying player **tags** used by many power mods (for example tags aligned with **EMP / power-erased** style behavior).
- Setting a **scoreboard** objective (`Power.Suppressed`) so packs or other mods that key off scores can react.
- **Stripping survival flight** if you were flying (Creative and Spectator are unchanged).
- **Compound V** style powers implemented as **mob effects** in the `compound_v` namespace are **temporarily removed** while you are inside the zone. When you leave, the mod **restores** those effects and **adjusts remaining duration** so time spent suppressed does not extend the effect unfairly.

When you **leave** the radius (or the block is removed), suppression **fully clears**: tags, scoreboard side effects used here, and Compound V snapshots are cleaned up so your abilities return to normal.

### Ownership, security, and factions

- **Who placed the block is the owner.** On placement, the block remembers the **owner UUID** (and display name for reference). Only the **owner** or a server **operator** (permission level 2+) can **reconfigure** the block.
- **Use (right-click)** the block (as owner or OP) to toggle **owner/faction exemption**:
- **Disabled (default):** everyone in range who is not exempt is suppressed (subject to the rules below).
- **Enabled:** the **owner** and, when **Recruits** is installed, members of the **same Recruits faction** as the owner at toggle time are **not** suppressed by that block. Other players still are.
- If **Recruits** is **not** installed, the mod loads normally; faction IDs are simply unused until Recruits is present.

### Why download this mod?

If you run a **1.20.1 Forge** server or pack with **Palladium**, **UnOrthodox**, **Compound V**-style effects, or other mods that respect the same **tags/scoreboard** hooks, this block gives you a **simple, in-world lever**: build a prison, a tournament arena, a villain lair, or a safe **“no powers”** embassy without writing custom scripts. It is **optional with Recruits** and focuses on **clear, reversible suppression** tied to **distance and block presence**.
