With the many decoration blocks that are available (more will be added as I think of them) it is possible to build some amazing structures. Or alternatively throw some blocks together and come out with something like this
All crafting recipes are fairly intuitive for those that play vanilla (for example a pickaxe is 3 gems across and 2 sticks down). Lamps and inverted lamps are crafted with 8 gems on the outside and redstone/ redstone torch in the centre

New in 1.14.4. - Shears, Bars, Doors, Lamps and Inverted Lamps
This mod includes some world gen, gems with various properties and recipes for various tools and armour. Adds some decoration blocks that can be crafted from the gems too, such as a block of gem, stairs, slabs, and bricks This is a first stab at a Minecraft mod and the main purpose is to become acquainted with the modding framework.
